Bought a new Twister CP - Charger Question
Hey all,

Just picked up my twister CP and noticed that the charger that is provided has a ~12VDC input with a pair of small aligator clips.

Should there be an AC charger provided? I've looked at some pics of the kit on the net and they don't show an AC charger.

How can I charge my Lipos? Do I have to buy an AC charger or can I charge it from my car battery (how long does it take to charge?).

Here's a thread with some pics of what's in the kit (just like the kit I have).

This is a pic of what I have (note there is no AC charger).

Thanks

Charge off a small hobby battery (if u have a nitro u will already have one of these) - or do it off your car battery.

Not overly recommended to charge dodgy lipo's in your engine bay tho

THe battery I have for my nitro car is only 1.5V (used for the glow plug) so I take it that won't do it.

How long will it take to charge via the car battery? Reason being is that I don't want to start the car (as the alternator will output 14.x volts) and leaving it too long with the car off might drain the battery?

Car batt will be fine mate.

U will get quite a few (probably more than u can fly in a day or between drives!)

Let's say i have a sml hobby 12v batt for my nitro starter etc - and i can charge a 2000mah T-Rex lipo 3 times off it - enough flying for the day easy. Your car batt has a hell of a lot more capacity than that so i don't see a problem.

Oh - my 11.1v 1500mah batt that i had for my Hummingbird 3D used to take about 40 mins to charge.

Good luck!

Car Battery
Just a word of warning. Don't 'run' your car engine while charging your heli battery. I learned the hard way for my impatience and blew a lipo up!!!
