Lean run. You might have ingested some dirt, but if the engine was rich enough, the piston would not have been galled like that. The dings in the top of the piston were probably caused by detonation from the lean run.

That is what I see from here.....

I do run a fuel filter, and fly from a grass field.

I have decided to send it back to O.S. for the final verdict, and hope it's in my favor. If not It's just a lesson in heli engines 101. I already ordered another engine from heliproz to keep me in the air.

Thanks for all your input guys!

Jay

Of coarse I know how to fly this thing, but if you see me running try to keep up!!

Well I just wanted to update you all on the status of my engine. I sent it back to O.S. and they just E-mailed me back today, with this responce:

Service Tech Notes: We Inspected your engine and found the rear bearing to be ruff and very notchy. We went ahead and sent you a brand new engine. Be sure to use after run oil at the end of each flying session.

O.S. Hobby Services

I guess 50% of you were right, it was the rear bearing. It really doesnt matter the engine was replaced free of charge under warranty. I now wish I didn't purchase another engine so soon, being as mine should be back on the 24th. I guess I will just have a spare.

Thanks guys for all your input!

Jay
