cant say i feel sorry for him, he had it comming. he was probably trying to stick his thumb up the stingrays butt. that guy took so many chances, got hurt so many times
"oh Crikey, my fingers will need to be sewn back on from that shark i just rapped, but i'll be back at it in no time! Stay tuned, the next scene is me getting bit by a rattle snake while i stick my thumb RIGHT up its BUTT"

atleast it wasn't a slow and painful death, i'm pretty sure that once your heart gets a big barb shoved through it, that you dont have much longer. died doing what he loved i guess. harassing every animal he comes across. Good of him to leave two kids behind thatw ill never grow up to see him, and widow his wife to film something that you can go to any aquarium to see.

should be posted in Offtopics though, or the jokes one, it is pretty funny. Cya later Steve Dirrrwin

Hey Furious,
You dont have to agree with his methods, but at least he had a passion for what he did. Unlike you, show some respect.
You proven yourself to be a brainless twit.

Glad to hear you think someones death is a joke Furious, you could at least get you facts right about the harassing animals part. I supose I could write something negative about you here right now but then I would be just as good as you making comments about someone I dont know.

I read it yesterday at imdb.com

I felt really sorry for the guy. I have been watching his shows on discovery and animal planet from time to time.
As everyone said, he died doing what he loved. Not everyone has this chance is their lives.

RIP Steve!

I feel sorry for his family. I knew he had it coming he messed about with these dangerous animals and he thought he was Tarzan. It sounds cruel but i could not stand all that over zealousness "what a beauty" well the beauty finally showed how beautiful they can be.

OK, to you folks that say he had it coming. Do you really believe that he wasn't aware of the dangers that were present in his line of work? I'm sure he knew exactly what he was doing. He may have appeared over-confident around nature, but, he realized that the risks he took came with the territory. He's probably done more to inform and generate interest in the general public about animals and nature than anyone else. That said, you also have to realize that his demise to a stingray is very much a freak accident. Like others have said, I am very bummed about his death.

He is an aussie icon and will be missed by the masses. There are thousands out there who now know more about dangerous animals is aus and also in other parts of the world due to Steve's conservation. He was a very dedicated man not only to his work and love for animals but also to his family.
FURIOUS VIGOR you bloody idiot comments like that goes to show what sort of idiot you are. May be you might get what's coming to you down the track. What goes around comes around. If a freak accident at the flying field happened to you one day say a blade to the head, people might say you had it coming

You know, I worked for a Zoo, in the Reptile dept. for over four years. I worked with all venomous snakes, huge pythons, alligators, small crocs and huge crocs. I have kept and bred snakes most of my life. I loved working with animals and it is very easy to get excited about what your doing. I never had the fortune to meet Steve Irwin, wish I could have. I remember when his show first hit the air we thought "Wow, this guys is nuts man! Just a matter of time before he gets bit by a hot snake or a croc gets a hold of him" but I never, ever wished that upon him. As the years went by I began to realize that this dude has an extraordinary skill and/or talent for handling these animals! He has done more to bring wildlife into peoples livingrooms and awareness of their lives etc than just about anyone else. And to see some of you saying "he got what he deserved" etc is sad. Do you have any idea what he has done to bring animals and their plight back to the forefront of so many peoples lives? Especially children?

Some peoples jobs consist of sitting behind a desk and thats fine, but some peoples jobs carry risk, sometimes high risk and if it wasn't for guys like him with the balls to do it we wouldn't be where we are today. This is a sad day for Australia, the US, hell the world! This was a great man who did so much, please give this man and his family the respect he and they deserve. Furious, you know your remarks were uncalled for, come on man, your better than that.
