Your first heli before the Rex
Would like to know anyone of you ever start out in r/c heli and directly got a t-rex to start with or you have other helicopters to practise hard on before getting the t-rex?

thanks so much cause i've been hearing mixed comments about beginners shouldnt get a trex etc.

I had a poorly tuned raptor .30 before...never got the hang of it..mostly a little hovering. Got a trex Se this year...great heli, also using a sim helped. It does wonder a little, but nothing to worry about.

I had a guy here where I live help me build mine...My first 'real' heli was a t-rex XL. I didn't even learn to fly on the walkera...It pooped out on me before I got any good at it.

It's so worth the money....If you don't have a t-rex you don't know what you're missing...It's so well designed (in my opinion).

5 or 6 years ago started with the piccolo. Then Started in HEAVY on the hornets for a few years, then found Nitro raptor 50 3D helis to be fun. Then I got into large electrics. (3 mikado logo 10's). now that I really know how to fly, I played with the 600, and now I'm back to Trex's and just ordered a Lepton. I find the sound of electric and the quickness of the smaller heli's alot of fun, and not quite as much of a threat as the larger nitro and electric beasts. Not to mention, cheaper lipos for lots more flight time. Plus, there is always somewhere to fly any given day of the week (assuming you practice safe flying spot location) with small electrics.

Blade CP then a TREX XL which is what I have now and just changed the frame to a CF one. I guess it is like an SA or SE with the platic parts here and there. I jsut replace them broken plastic parts with metal. Still learning. I can do FFF, figure 8s and have been struggling with holding the heli nose in.
Plan to get either a Raptor .30 or a larger e heli like a SWIFT or LOGO.

after the #4 "incident" I spoke with a friend who is quite the pilot and was told to get a 450X V2.

Over the course of about a year and a half it has slowly evolved into what it is today.

Interesting
I've got 2 x draganflyer 2s. Great machines, and still get a buzz every time I fly them. Interesting to hear your comments on them.

After Planes in the 70s, I got a nitro Concept 30 in the 80s learnd to hover and fly before sims. Got out for a lot of years tired of the nitro mess and clutches.........found the electric took away all the reasons I quit and got a Blade CP I love it !!......started doing stunts because of the cheap parts to repair it ............got a Trex to get more precise ......now im looking for another Trex to get into heavey 3D ....I figure with my learning curve Ill need a spare !!!!!!!

Had a Venom fixed pitch peice of crap, then a Corona and a Shogun, and then a t-rex, it was not till I got a Raptor 50 to when I could really start flying and getting into doing some "serious" flying. I still have a rex now, all pimped out and flies like a rocket but I barely fly it. To be honest if I was to do it all over again I would have progressed much faster on a bigger nitro like a Rappy 30 or 50, then to go back and have a rex is easier and so fourth. Don't get me wrong the micros are cool, I just do not feel they advance you that much, they sure held me back but now I can do everything on my rex as I can on my bigger E Helis, just in a smaller space....Once upon a time there were Nitros, flybars and frequency pins...

what about this setup for $450 shipped
Looks like a good setup except for the S75 servos. Those are standard on a BladeCP and work fine there, but are too weak and sloppy for a ccpm TRex.
