reality check perhaps?
well after all the problems recently with the synergy build, parts etc, after some problems myself i think we should remember this is 100% a new heli, 100% a new company and the fact neither todd nor jk has done this before i think things have turned out not bad at all for a first release.

SURE i would like collets to fit, ball links that fit etc but it's all niggles that needed a solid production run to fix.

it would be good to get an official response for the probs, i'm sure it's in the pipeline.

cheers

As long as it's not on my money. I'll wait till the get the bugs fixed or see how they handle it before I look at one.

just aswell for you then that people have bought them, only one way to fix bugs.....buy it and feed it back. it's a crappy deal but someone needs to do it.

i'll see with my 2nd synergy if anything is updated from the "v1"

cheers

I'm glad you are doing it. But one of the selling points was supposed to be that the customer wouldn't need to.

that was EXTREMELY unrealistic on jk and todds part to expect zero problems.

I suppose in retrospect the one thing we can be thankful is no Safety issues so far other than one way clutch slipping, seems like mine was isolated case.

I've abused mine (heli that is) for 6 litres now and nothing has fallen off!!

I think the 'zero problems' selling point was with the design.

i.e. No need for 'reccommended' upgrades in the the future like some manufacturers.

As I see it, all the minor issues so far are those born out from mass production and manufacturing. All easily fixable in time.

With the lenght of time its been in the coming (a year since it was shown) i would have thought they had ample time to sort out any bugs. What about all the peeps that had em before public release they must have come across these issues before all u guys got kits. It could have been done better. This Heli Will Self Destruct In Five Seconds!!

Like its been said already, T&J don't own the manufacturing plants.
They will get that sorted out and all will be fine.

I agree with Britflyer's comments and many others in the fact that's it's not a design problem at all but more of a problem with the mass production of parts by there relevent manufacturers.

I've seen many N9's and the quality of the components is superb!

I've noticed that the pre-release N9's that people got for evaluation were not released that much earlier than the public release of the N9's at the 3DM's 2006, so i would assume that in this short space of time these mass production issues would not have been picked up.

Been in a similiar vain of industry, where prototypes are designed and produced and then the relevent companies enage in length searches and tests with manufacturer's, i've found that these manufacturers will to win the deal give a price and give out a top quality product when they get the deal to mass produce the parts they start to cut back a little, say on materials used, using a cheaper version of the material or Inferior material, trying to cut there cost so that they can make more money.

This has the downside that the end product is Inferior to it's original 'Blueprint' design, and also the initial test batch which they would have produced the TB & JK.

Sometimes this is not the cause and maybe it's a production problem, say for example with the fan collets, this could have been in the design for them to have a slit in them but the program that a CNC machine uses to machine them may have missed that section and then you get a batch which is missing the sleeve. Nobody knows until we get the kits as i would suspect JK & TB don't pack each kit themselves and this job is delegated to employees who don't know R/C helicopters or associated parts and got by part numbers and quantity.

I would say this is an initial problem on the first batch, when the ball gets rolling i would say they will be pretty hard to beat.!!
