MX 400 or T rex 450
Hey guys, i'm about to buy an MX 400. It has an excellent set up and i'm getting it for just $300.

Brushless motor, gy 401, futaba servos, Carbon Fiber Frame with a back-up Aluminum frame and CF blades, aluminum head. It is brand new, just built and sitting on the shelf.

Now.. what I want to know is what is the performance difference between this MX 400 and a T-rex 450 with the exact set up? Is the MX400 bigger or smaller than the T-rex, or is it heavier? Any answers appreciated. Thanks

TREX! Has better parts support and this is a TREX forum But they both coexist peacefully meaning some parts are interchangeable. Your deal sounds really good though given the parts with it like the 401 etc. You will come to the DARK side..i.e. black TREX CF frame

Thanks for the reply. But I would REALLY like to know the performance difference. Parts is not a problem as my local LHS carries both t-rex and MX-400 parts. And the MX-400 frame is Carbon Fiber.

The MX400, with Align head parts, files EXACTLY like a Trex, and the canopy DOES fit. I overhauled a friend's X400 using Align stock head parts, and it flew EXACTLY like a Trex.

I have an Ark X400 (same as MX400) and a TRex CDE. I would personally get a Trex if buying one new only because of parts availability and b/c "everyone" has one to help ya troubleshoot.

I like the MX400 slightly better as far as a strict comparison between part quality and flight performance. The differences are small. In general, the worst thing about having a heli other than a TRex is you always feel a bit like a second class citizen since you are outnumbered so badly.

Anyone who says the MX400 is a bad machine is either exaggerating or very unlucky.

If you have the opportunity to get all that you mentioned for $300 you'd be crazy not to take it...absolutely crazy.

Thanks a lot for the reply ptarp. I am definitely going to buy it because it is so cheap, but wanted to know if i should keep it or sell it.

Ptarp, could one use the same troubleshooting guide designed for a T-rex on the Mx-400?

Buy the bird, strip it,sell the MX and buy a trex, put your electronics in it and go fly.I had a mx it flies okay besides the plastic head exploding around flybar assembly, plastic to weak to hold the mixing arms, swashplate separating midflight,25 buck cheesy mainblades.Get a trex!!!!!

the Mx400 head was hell it blew up on me more than 5 times also spares are getting alot harder to find..along with upgrades.

trex is THE way to go!

EDIT - buy that then just replace the head and other parts with align metal parts
