good cheap vid card for reflex
Looking for a cheap vid card that will do the job for reflex. My recently purchased nvidia 6200 is not doing the job. with the new update I can not get above 30fps at 1280x1024 res in full screen, never mind a window. The card needs to be agp and I don't want to spend a lot as I'll probably be redoing this board soon. Just want something cheap that will get the job done. Ideally no more than 60-70 dollars from an online computer place and prefereably cheaper if possible.

What's wrong with 30 fps? I was using reflex with 24 fps until I updated it , and my graphics card drivers.

Mine works good enough to learn on. I use it in full screen, and a window without any problems at all.
Oh my graphics card is an Nvidia based Radion 9600 128MB I use Windows XP home, with 1GB SDRam

I can't get it to run in 1280x1024 acceptably with the new update. Now I'm running 1024x768 with the panovision resolution at the lowest setting. It will hardly run in a window.

Just tried aTuner. My fps went from 35 to 47, and I didn't play with it yet lol. Lots of settings to try to bring the fps up. Quite impressed

Oh I run Reflex in 1280x1024 in full screen AND the same in Window mode. The only change I had to make to Reflex was take the res down ONE setting on the panorama resolution It's 8160x2048 Not bad for 1998 PC

When buying computer hardware, the best price/performance is usually in the midrange products. You get crap if you go too cheap and you get ripped off if you buy the best.

fps, it depend on lot stuff not just video card... it's waster of money if spend $200 something new video card and your old pc mainboard doen't have a agp 4x-8x, or pci express slot, most old mainboard only agp2x, other stuff like video memory, ram, cpu speed... even hdd speed is counting for faster video fps. i running my reflex on old work horse amd althon 1.8 and nvidia 5200 agp 4x main board. i can't get over 25 fps but it doesn't matter for now. peace out flyer. if you got a spare p4 3.0 cpu and mainboard gimme a pm , thank <-freedoom flyer->
