Should I trade for a graphite gas
I have the opportunity to trade a 29% edge for basicly a brand new x-cell graphite gas heli. I've been getting back into helis and pretty much finished with airplanes. The heli comes with JR nes4131 servos, a JR NEJ1000 gyro and a NEJ1000A amplifer. I don't know anything about the gyro and amplier. I'm assuming I need to change the gyro. I want to use the heli for AP. Can I still get the metal upper frames for this ship? What are everyones thoughts of this heli.

Thanks

Get a 401 with a 9254 servo, that gyro is like 10 years old, maybe older.

Yep, that's a 1005 Xcell gas, Be sure that you get the front pinion mod, it will keep you from stripping the main gear, it is gold in color, (the lower main bearning block), and the front pinion will go into it, to keep it solid,, Looks like you have the push pull on collective, but I couldn't see if the push pull on the elevator is there, you will need that too. Other than that, Great heli.. It is a work horse, Will fly, and fly, and fly.. Good Luck,, XGMJohn Crotts

Where do I get the front pinion mod and how do I tell if I have the elevator push pull? (Which one is the elevator?) Do I need the upper metal frames for AP?

Thanks,
Dan

I get most of my stuff from Ricks,, http://www.ronlund.com
the front pinion mod # is 0832 front pinion mod, The elevator servo is the one on the right side of the heli, towards the back at the top of the frames, part # is 0863

Hope this helps.. Good luck,, XGM

Well, I made the trade. Thanks for all the info. I have too many other projects going on right now, but eventually I will get around to setting this thing up. I still haven't had anyone answer my question about the frames, so I'll ask again. Do I need to upgrade to the aluminum uppers frames to do AP and are they available?
