Clutch, clutch liner and clutch bell question
I just got a new clutch, clutch bell and liner for my 90 standard, since I screwed everything up when I had a hot start. Funny thing is this bird has never been off the ground. Anyway, checking the new liner into the new clutch I am finding that the liner does not go completly around the bell, I have approx a 22mm gap (if I read my calipers right). T thought there should be a very small gap but not what I am seeing now. I used that part numbers supplied by TT when ordering the parts, and when I got the clutch liner I noticed that there were two in the pack. Did I order the wrong liner or do I have to cut a piece of the other liner and fit it into the gap? Thanks in advance for all reponses!!

Perhaps you got the 50 liners instead of the 90? The clutch liners come in pairs, and when you glue them in there is a gap of around 1mm (or less?). What color are they? I think I saw the 90 clutch liners were a bit green, while the 50 liners were gray-black (but I'm not 100% sure on this).

22mm? That is almost an inch. That isn't a "gap" - that's something missing.

firefox, the liners are grey and black, I double checked the part numbers on the packages and they appear to be correct just as I had ordered them from heliproz. Saga continues thanks for the reply.

Do you have the heavy duty clutch bell? It seems that's what's used in the 90SE, don't know if it's the same for the 90. The part for the clutch liner for the HD clutch bell is PV0324, and it's blue (ha, not green, but not black/gray). Check it out:

Is your new clutch and clutch bell the same size as the old ones that got messed up in the hot start?

If the new parts are larger in diameter then you have gotten a hold of the 90 size HD clutch and bell.

Also, what are the part numbers listed on the packages from the 3 new items. Know this will help us sort out exactly what you have.
