bit ironic really the guy got really close to the most deadliest snakes and reptiles in the world, even picked up a stone fish which if you didnt know is the most venomous fish in the world and the thing that kills him is a not so dangerouse stingray

the bloke will be missed

I really liked the guy. He did more for Aussie awareness than anyone else that I can think of.

I have to agree with nivlek, it's to bad the guy is dead, and I do feel for his wife, but I always though the guy was a little careless and a show off..

Its very sad news that Steve Irwin died.He was a great spokes person for conservation. He loved being with wildlife and loved it with a passion thats why it might look careless at times.Australia has lost a true Aussie icon. Most aussie blokes can relat to him in some way.Gravity sucks :)

Very sad. I know a lot people say it's no surprise but this guy knew what he was doing. He was an expert with animals. He was such a like-able guy. Recent studies have shown that flying a RC helicopter is more addictive than crack cocaine

Just found this on steve's web page. Kinda of ironic...
This is on his web page:
http://animal.discovery.com/fansite...aq/crocfaq.html
In the question and answer section. I'm not sure how long ago he posted this.

Q: Many concerned fans, including Connie Games and Chris Baird, have heard rumors that you have been bitten by a very venomous snake and have died. Others worried that you had succumbed to a fatal crocodile bite. Are you OK?

A: I've never been bitten by a venomous snake, and I recently heard that I'd been killed. Ha ha! I've been killed by crocodiles, venomous snakes, spiders. I've even had a beetle crawl in my ear and kill me once. Nah! I'm here to tell you: Steve Irwin lives!

At least the guy died doing what he lives!

A great loss. My kids loved watching his shows. I am not supprised that he got deaded as he's done some increadably brave and dangerous things and it was kind of inevitable. RIPVegetable rights and Peace

If it's inevitable, isn't it then just stupid and dangerous?“Getting an inch of snow is like winning 10 cents in the lottery.”

No. You have to follow your passions and some are more dangerous than others. You have to responsible for accepting the consequences of your actions. How about the early years of motor sport or being a test pilot. It is dangerous but not stupid.
