Cobra - Same Venom -Just different Scales
Well,

I was the lucky soul that got Copter Doctor's Cobra. It is a mechanical marvel, especially how he adapted the tail drive. I wanted something that was a little different to call mine, so here is my version. I included the air speed indicator, AQL-44 disco light, mesh on the exhaust, vents, top bar and wire cutter (from balsa) and decals.

My pilot is from McFarlane's and I have another McFarlane Co-Pilot on it's way. Emile she flies sweet and I really love the sound of the flapping head.
The first pic is what it looked like when Emile had it, he did make all of the wings, guns and ammo (incredible how he made them), but were not attached in the picture. Thanks for your help Emile. Here are some few pics.

Emile's Version

Thanks Emile,

Getting a compliment from you is very flattering. . I'm glad you like it. I know I will have years of fun with it, so she is a keeper. I will get some more pics of it flying shortly...still working on the KIOWA.

...thanks to the compliments. BTW. HELI143, your Heuy looks great! I can't wait for that one to get finished. Once it is, all of us should put on an WarBird funfly only for helis. Bluedr44, I fly out at Debbie's R/C World or at T.C.C in Portsmouth or at Fentress.

I didn't realize it was that the fuselage was that big...I guess Emile was keeping that one a surprise. The color shows up very well. I just added my Dubro Kwik-Fill fueling Valve where the real one is located and it looks pretty cool. I have one on my Bell 222 and it hasn't failed me yet.

I hope to get some video of it soon and when I do, it will get posted. I can't wait for the Cobra's counterpart, the Kiowa OH-D, get finished- so there will be two military birds. I wish I could fly both at the same time. LOL

hey wemo,
thanks for the compliment. Credits go to Emile as he installed the mechanics in about 24 hours. a LOT of work, but that is Emile, building and flying is his life.
I should have it ready for paint in about two weeks as I have more business travel scheduled right now.
If we can get together, I am sure Emile and Jay (LT1PWR) would jump on it. Jay's Hughes 500 is being painted as we speak and from what I heard, looking very good.

take care.

I've added more detail to the Cobra by putting visible rivet lines on it and adding turbine residue coming from the turbine as well as on the rotor tail area. Added the Dubro quik filler for the nitro in the same spot where the real one's are located. It's the red dot just below the pilot.
I will install the co-pilot this week and then she will be set. It's pretty neat to see the ALQ-144 (Disco Light) reflect when the sun hit it just right. John took some video of it so when he gets it to me I will post it.
