Thinking of getting this upgrade possibly in the future, but unsure if it changes the mixing from HDE to CCPM. Can anyone clarify this for me.

Does this kit change the HDE (450xl) kits to a CDE CCPM?

Thanks, Big Al

Nope. It's still non-CCPM, m-CCPM, pure mechanical, insert your own personal interpretation of a non e-CCPM (Curtis Youngblood would kill me) configuration here

Thanks, ShellDude. I thought that is what it would be. I looked again after posting my question and realized that it stays HDE (mechanical mixing).

Still not happy with the slop in my elevator, last night I completely dismantled the elevator control system and reassembled it. During the reassembly process, I noticed the opportunity to add an extra washer in between the end and control arm caps on both sides of the elevator assembly.

It's now tight as a drum!

HOLY SMOKING CRACK COW!

Man, I wish I would've checked that elevator assembly a month ago. Talk about a difference!

The uber weighted flybar paddles might of dampened things a bit, but gone are the days of elevator slop!

if you already got an SE or a C/F frame with 120 swash, then why not? i reckon it's quite a good looking frame this HDE c/f fwiw.

This doesn't use a 120 swash. It's HDE so it's mechanical mixing. I'll just use my stock XL swash, or buy a metal upgrade. As far as they know, I already had it!

sorry there planet; i was meaning you'd maybe better off with the SE type ccpm frame rather than this one (hde), but if you've already got the ccpm ver., then why not have another rex but in a different format?!
you can use the std hde swash, but it'd be nigh-on shameful not to put a new ali. swash on a frame like the c/f hde.

NP str8den, thanks a lot for your help. I am so very tempted to buy one. Import duties are ridiculous. If UK prices wern't so disgraceful, I would have to buy from over seas and imports wouldn't be a problem. I'll be pretty pissed if I have to wait a week for the stuff to arrive, just to be told I have to pay another £40 or whatever lol. I just don't understand how something can cost (sometimes more than) twice here than in USA.

I understand the CF HDE frame's problem with slop, but I think ShellDude posted a fix for the elevator slop using a spare washer.

i've had loads of stuff sent, mostly from the US and have never paid any duty - might be just lucky - so i wouldn't mind being stung for it now; i've had 20+ orders to date.
i always use modefos, and if you were to do so too you'll be well impressed i'm sure. i nearly get twice the gear for the £ by buying abroard; but probably works out a lot cheaper if have a few things on your list, but shipping costs do seem reasonable.

Yeah I'm going to buy from Readyheli for $90. Its £90 her so even with $27 shipping and a possibility of customs, I'm still looking at almost 30% savings!

I might just 'accidently' click the buy button tomorrow, ratehr than sit for hours and change my mind

Once I get this frame, I'll practically have an HDE SE model. All the plastic thats left is the tail servo holder, swash, 2 of the 4 mixing arms, frame and boom support. The tail and the rest of the head are metal upgrades (with the blue anodization taken off so it looks really cool )

Thanks ShellDude, very much appreciated.

Would you recommend getting this frame? I'm only using the HDE XL plastic frame; will I see an improvement or is it just eye candy?

Hey Planehazza,

I just realized I never put any spacers in my HDE elevator mixer. I simply tightened it down really good and I've been slop free ever since.
