I beat Mark Conroy
Well the event is now over and all I can think off is the i got 2nd place in the drag race over Mark Conroy. He talked so much trash over the weeks before the event and at the event all he said is that he had the ship to beat. Well that was before his ship was scared to race me. I wasn't even going to run in the race. since I never raced before, nor have i even been praticing. But only 3 guys went out to race, and James went out begging others to come. Hell I was going to a judge at the finsh line. But thought someone had to lose, and it might as well be me. I asked the other pilots if I could do a practice run first. but they didn't allow it at first. then 2 more guys came out and Ron Lund said it was ok to do a Pratice run just to show the other guys how the race will go. I was in the 3rd group in the first race. and I just happened to be paired with Mark. (Thanks Billy!) The first 2 runs went off no troubles. then I was Mark and me. We lined up on the starting line and started to run up our ships. My ship was screaming and shaking a little, so was I. and James sounded the horn. we both took off and was hauling down the strip. when all of a sudden Mark's ship quit run and fell out of the sky. WOW I won the race! Since Mark crashed he was allowed 2 minutes to get his ship running again. but was not able to. He tried to bring a back up ship, but the judges did not allow this. He was put in the loser bracket, and I advanced to race Ron and lost then. Now both Mark and I were in the loser Bracket. He managed to get his ship running again and went on to race another race and won that heat. I then had to race Stan who was flying a Trex 600. I won the 1st heat and got a bad start on the 2nd heat and then won the last heat. (I think stan's Battiers were getting low.) I had to go refuel my ship and Mark ran a heat with David Frisk. to were Mark won. Now it back to Mark and myself racing again. There we were! on the line both ships screaming, James asked if we were ready, He sound the horn and off we went. moving down the strip. it wasn't looking good for me. when all of a sudden Mark's ship died again, fell to the earth and this time it was gone. WOW I won again! And now I had to race Ron Lund agian to get back into first. I had to beat him 4 time. well that did not happen. He was racing a 90 ship and I had a raptor 50v2 all stock. Just with a hyper 50. Any way Mark Lost, "to a rookie". And I got 2nd place. Mark did end up in 3rd. Lucky I guess. Better luck next year Mark. Next time I will be ready.

Got crushed by the Chuckster!!
I'm betting he went out and got a new tattoo for the occasion!!!

My sides are still hurting from all the laughing!! How is it possible to crash twice and still take 3rd place!!! His new nickname is "Rick Headspeed" according to Bill. I swear that his incredible headspeed created a wormhole that teleported his Raptor across the finish line. On one particular run he tried the fly it underground with negative collective on the launch.

Man if you missed it you missed it. We had all out BLAST at the event and the races were as unbelievable as Charles described them.

Congrats go to Ron for 1st place of course but extra kudos for Chuckie for slipping into 2nd place. I will be will be gunning for ya next year!!!

The auto contest was a surprise as well with David Frisk slipping in between Nathan and Ron to take 2nd place. Way to go David.

It was a fun event in all with Justin and Anthony on the scene to show everyone how those Vibes are meant to fly and Ron and Nathan dominating the Autos and Drag races.

Se ya next year for sure!

I just want to thank everyone that came out to this event. I got the final numbers and it was a successful event for our club. Hope to see you out there next year. I hope everyone had a good time and we will start a little sooner next year and maybe we can have an even bigger event next year. Special thanks to James Flemming, Mark Conroy and Ron Lund for all of your help on putting this event together.

Thanks,
Bill Stevens

Bill and friends
It was a pleasure having things work out as smooth as they did, and I am certain that the spectators had as much to talk about as the pilots themselves.

That said, I've given you the hands on training on MY style of running the auto and drag events.....and you've got my nod to have at it next time the same way. I won't be running them next year....I'll be IN the events. With that in mind.....

CONROY, I'M GONNA BEAT YA WITH MY ZERO......you had better figure out how to tune an engine before then!

Mr. SPENCER, 14/25 is NOT gonna sack the $$$$$ next time.....

Hey Chuck, tell everyone what your brother said to you and please don't cuss my Raptor like that.

I still don't understand this creative scoring method that was used.

Mark Conroe, 1 win and 2 loses.
Stan Carter, 1 win and 2 loses.

Mark takes third.

O No, they can't be. At least I made all the way to the end, that counts more.

My little brother told me
I asked my little brother if I was going to at least run 4 races before I was going to be knock out of the money. he said that some one might crash and you could advance. luck be had I ran the 1st race and Mark crashed. I advance by default, and only 1 race. Then I had to race Ron and lost twice. so now that is 3 races. Now i'm in the loser bracket. and had to race Stan won 1,lost 1, and won 1. Now that was 6 races. Advance to race Mark again. and again he crashed. Now I was up to 7 races. Went up against Ron again had to beat him 4 times to win the big money. But lost the first 2 races. In all I ended up running 9 races and walked away with $100. Not bad for someone who was in to lose and let other people fell good for them selfs. As for the scoring system, I'm not sure how that worked out. I was going to be a judge before James drafted me into running.

Oh and Stan sorry about calling your raptor a Trex 600. Still pretty cool heli you got. At least when all was said and do with. You only had to put your bird in the car and go. Everyone eles had to clean thiers first. See you next year

James I see if I can pull a few more RPM on my blades just for you next year. I guess 2800 was not enough.
