Here's another "motor"
I have seen two of these in existance, this one I shot
in Ashville, North Carolina and one in Las Vegas, Nevada.

There's a Kawasaki under that fiberglass.

A friend of the family owned two of those back about 15 or 18 years ago when they first came out. I thought for sure that it was a Honda under the body... but its been a long time and I was a little kid at the time. It was the coolest thing in the world to a little kid.

As a matter of fact he's a runryder member. "shooter" He used to bring me to cruise nights in it when I was a kid.

The one that was here in Las Vegas (haven't seen it in quite a while) was owned by Bob Stupak. He was the original owner of Vegas World (aka Stratosphere) and is a bit of an odd dude.

It was a production item... but I think it had very limited runs and not too much success. I remember it had really wierd controls. I'm amazed that it was allowed on the street by DOT... but the production numbers must have been low enough to not have to meet restrictions.

Now I know why it looks like a BD-5.
It was designed by the same guy, Jim Bede.

Sounds like it may have been powered by a Gold Wing 1100 or 1200 motor based on the "horizontally opposed four cylinder water cooled shaft drive". But the Wing didn't have a reverse gear until the 1500 came out in 1988. I had a few of the 1500's.

I knew it was a honda under there. One of the main reason that I though it was a honda is because the guy that brought them to us was the east coast rep for Honda at the time. He showed us pictures of them being built start to finish. I could have sworn it had reverse though. Maybe not... again, I was 8 or 10 years old.
