10x heli or 9303 versatility
I've been thinking about trying a 10x. I've held a couple of JR tx's and really like the way the gimbals feel. Plus I really like the new synth stuff JR is coming out with. Couple of questions though. I also like to fly (cough...cough...) planes every once in a while (the're cheaper to crash) and was wondering if I would be better off staying away from the heli only 10x? I've heard of people using them for planes but there must be a few limitations. Is ther a way to use two servos for Ail. functions with 10x? Is ther a huge diff from 9303 as far as functions and adjustability. 9303 is both Heli and Air right? I don't want to start a 9C vs 9303 thing here but I was wondering how the menus compare to 9c as far as ease of use and versitility. I've seen a few exelent condition 10x radios in the classified section and I figure maybe I could try something top of the line. It is not a nessecity but I figur if I can get top o the line for mid line price then why not. Thanks in advance guys!!!

I have a 10X and love it....but i must admit if i was going to be using it to also fly planes, it would be far better to buy the 9303. From what I hear it is a great radio that will do everything you'll need.

A couple things I like about the 10X:
Great feel. I never held a 9303 but the 10X has a great feel. Its very thick and is comfortable to hold.

The touch screen is very cool.

Once you learn the codes, it's very easy to navigate to the various options.

I'm sure there are probably ways to set mixing functions that would allow you to fly most any plane. I just haven't played around with it enough. I still have an 8303 that I keep around as a spare and also use it for the occasions when i take one of my planes out to fly.

I've got a 9303 and was also thinking about the 10X before I bought mine... the 10X is a pain to use because of the code functions you have to remember AND it has no Airplane functions were the 9303 has Heli, Airplane, and Sailplanes. The 9303 has a menu and no functions codes ... and has all the same features minus a channel...

And the Gimbals are the same on all high end JR Radios and the 9303 feels the exact same to me as the 10X, lol (minus come wieght)

10X vs the 9303...
You forgot one key benefit of the 9303...

The 9303 is allot less expensive than the 10X.

the 10x cost so much not just because it has one more channel, but because of what it is made out of. The face is a cast magnesium alloy material.

I've got no problems flying planks with my 10X.

Sure, there are _no_ pre-made mixes for 2-servo ailerons, V-tails, etc, however, the 10X has loads of free programable mixes which I use instead.
Sure, it's a bit cumbersome, but I'd never, ever, want to go back to a 9303/9X2..

10X vs 9303...

For you that may make the $1000 difference all that more important.

For me, the weekend flier and the occasional funflyer and sometimes contestant, I can't justify that kind of money, but you are free to purchase whatever makes you happy. That's why they make more than one level of radio. Otherwise they wouldn't sell very many radios.

Ok guys.
l`ll need a new tx soon, my 3810 is on it`s last legs.
So lets forget the money and l`m not worried what its made of or about a touch screen. What l need to know is will one be better than the other as far as flying my heli`s? Oh and l have no interest in flying planks.
Flybars. Who needs `em.

NO. 9303 is as good as 10X. You will never need the additional functions 10X has unless if you intent to be in the F3C competition level.

9303 is by far the easiest TX in the market this moment. The functions that offers are again more than you will ever need even if you intent to join competition.
