Slightly bent replacement clutch question
Hi all,

I received a new replacement clutch for the Evo 50 which has one side bent down by about 1mm (i.e. one of the tines that is meant to swing out and engage the clutch bell). I can screw it in tight so it is flat, I suppose, but am worried this may damage the flywheel and/or impair the function. Should I ask to have this clutch (is brand new) replaced?

Thanks,

Dolf

NEW NEW NEW you may find a vibration if you dont replace Rule of thumb if it looks bad replace itThe first step in gettin help is admitting you have a problem ( yes I am addicted to helicopters )

It shouldn't be bent, and if you try to straighten a clutch shoe it will probably break once you start flying it. The metal is tempered and can only flex a little bit before it develops stress fractures.

Contact Jeff Green (MRC-Hirobo) and let him know about your bad part. MRC customer service is awesome.

Hell, remember that the clutch to bell clearance is meant to be 0.4mm, so if you have a shoe foot bent 1mm in - it's basically toast

Sounds like its time to get that replacement clutch replaced. bummer. Thats an annoying reason to not have a heli in the air.

A called Ricks, they sent me a replacement. I was tempted to try to bend it straight, but scared it might break. Thanks for the replies.
