outta gas
well i just did my first auto. not cause i wanted to though. i knew i was in my last 1/4 of a tank and made a mental note to keep an eye on it but the note musta got chopped up in the rotor blades cause at one time im flying and havin a good ol time and the next thing i know all i hear is the wipping sound of the blades... no engine. i was at about 30 feet and not a whole lot of fwd airspeed. anyways the landing went nicely. for some of ya this is probly nothing but to me..... its pretty seet as i only have 2 gallons under belt and im self taught for the most part. and its funny cause the last couple drops that were in the tank were the last couple drops of the seccond gallon ever. yay me

And keep an I on the fuel level in the future!

Why put your heli at risk when there's something you can do about it!

usualy i do keep an eye on it... i guess i just got side tracked with all the fun i was having......oooops by the way anyone know of a good uhh i ferget the name it the piece that keeps the tail rotor turning with the main rotor to prevent the wig wags on the V2 raptor 30. its like a semi slip little piece that fits on the bottom of the main rotor shaft.

no its a piece that bolts to the bottom of the shaft where the existing bolt is and then is squeezes the part that turns the tail rotor. so it keeps them the same rpm but will slip if you have a tial trike. its supposed to get rid of the wig wags. and if someone knows a better way that would be cool too as this is the only piece of equipment i seen that serves this purpose

Nice save. Same thing happened to me on my very 2nd and 3rd flight. I can only seem to do a good auto when I am forced to, but for practice or fun, I can't auto at all. Hmmmm...West Valley Heli Club
