Jr 810G Servo W/ PCM Receivers Only?
Is the Jr 810G tail servo compatable with PCM receivers only?, This is posted in a Jr servo brochure, whats the story on this?, Is this right?....

The 8700G is the same way. I guess JR found out that the servo is slightly noisy and can cause glitching in some PPM installations. You could try it and see if you get any glitching

Its strange but the only problems we have seen are with the JR digital servos and Futaba 138DF PPM receiver. In that case, with the JR servo plugged direct into the Rx we found glitching on all the channels. We have used the 8700G with JR FM receivers quite a lot without any suggestion of a problem (on 35 MHz I should mention)

As a complete aside, you have to be careful about using JR digitals with at least some of the Futaba PCM Rxs (the 138DP for example) as the Rxs hold their outputs high during the boot up time and the servos see this as a long pulse and go hard over to one end. Its OK via a gyro because the gyro isolates the servo from the long high output from the Rx.

Best regards

It would be quite easy to make a little PIC based gismo to go between the Rx and the servo to mask off the initial high state but I never got around to making one. A nice little job for a quiet weekend (some chance!)

I'm using one of the JR810 servos with a Hitec 8 channel FM receiver with no problems. The government cannot give you anything without first taking it from someone else.

I had problems with rf glitching when using the 8700G and ppm 138 rx. Problem was solved by adding low esr decoupling VERY close to the servo. I believe the 8700G and 810 are pretty much identical except the motor which is a lower spec in the 810. With the 149 PCM Rx and an 8700G without decoupling, I have noticed the occasional lack of input which is undoubtedly due to the rx loosing input messages due to a corrupted signal be the 8700G. I have also come across a futaba servo which generates alot of electrical noise, the 3050. That was so bad it reset my governor.Vegetable rights and Peace

I soldered a capacitor to the GND/5V rails about 2 inches from the servo. In the 2 pics, I fitted the capacitor at the gyro. On other setups, I have the capacitor tiewrapped on the frames, close to the gyro. I used 470uF.
