Sunset in Seattle
My 3 year old son said, "Look outside at the pink sky." I went out and took this picture.

Sunset in Seattle, 7-21-06 9:12 Pacific Time.

Great pix, thanks!
That same paintbrush is used down here in New Zealand occasionally, too.

This time of year, Winter(brrrrr), we have some of our nicest flying weather here in Wellington. Every Winter, on at least one Sunday afternoon, after a good days flying, I am sometimes stopped in my tracks. I look around at the sky- I just look. To the North is a small-ish mountain range- usually snowcapped this time of year. To the west is a line of hills between me and the setting sun.

With the tenps nice and crisp, calm air, and the salmon colored light crossing through the sky, sidelighting the clouds and washing the snow on the peaks to the north- it's all breath-taking.

It's times like that I try to stop and count the many ways I'm a lucky guy. I have a good job, one that pays me enough to have a hobby like helicopters, I fly with some great guys I enjoy spending time with, and most importantly- I have a partner who cares for me, and I feel the same for my partner.

God does have a great paintbrush- and it's worth stopping sometimes and looking around. I'm a lucky guy.

I think we're getting pretty much the same weather as Seattle. Maybe a little warmer at 36C.

This was off our deck about 15 minutes ago. Just brought the dogs back from a swim and we were all just relaxing and enjoying the sunset.
