Hardcore R90SE pilots....What upgrades do you recommend for performance?
I'm interested in upgrades that will either perform better and/or last longer. ie: What should be steel...aluminum etc? from tip to tail...should I use the quick auto hub..I've heard the original hub locks up often? I'll be using the GY611/servo package and new OSHZ 91 engine...Do any of you guys use the 'servo center post' I see so often on fury's? Infinivation dampners or thunder tiger? I haven't seen 'push pull collective on SE's?

Any suggestions/ideas appreciated.

Thanks,

Michael

I do not have my SE yet but I know what I have read. I think it comes down to the Infinivation Dampers, lightweight Red TT Paddles and good servos. I am getting the 9451's/9351 (Collective) for mine so that should be plenty of speed and torque for most maneuvers. Get the Arizona Reg/Lithium Setup and run your servos at 6v for best performance. The 611/9256 is pretty unbeatable on the tail, though the CSM 720 is a contender there, but the 611 is FAR easier to setup from what I can tell.

I'm sure other can chime in with their thoughts too.

I believe that the servo post and brace on the collective helps quite a bit. Before I put it on I could put some load on my collective tray by hand and work the servo and easily see it flex on the rubber mounts. This is because the link is perpendicular to the long dimension of the servo. You can tighten up the screws extra well or skip the grommets ( ) and it'll help some, but mine is rock solid with the brace. See my gallery for pics.

I also like the metal starter block. Its not very popular and I don't see many people using it, but I think its nice to have that starter shaft as rigid as it can be with the load that a 90 puts on the pinion and the 90 cranking load.

Keep in mind I barely fly FF so my opinion doesn't have much value.

^^Why do you prefer the soft steel flybar? Just because its less likely to break?

I wish that I could say that it was mine.....but its not. I took the picture of Marcus Kim's canopy at the MHA FF in MD. I believe that it is a Dave Yost Design canopy. I konw that his red one is, and they look very similar, just different colors.

Good luck on your bird.
