got a new 9303 (a mini review),,,
hey my Century friends, buddies and pals, check it out,,,

man the programing on this 9303 is so simple to work with, and there is so much to it's programing I can see the 9303 would be a much better tool for the better pilot than my 8103 is, I'm sure I wont use some of it's programing for a while, but I wanted to give my 8103 to my son so I bought it,, OH, and the guy I bought it from upgraded it to "Scan Select",,, "cool man",,,, I'm hoping to fly with it this weekend so I will reply to this post when I do..

programing,,,
1) push a button to open the Programing List,

2) roll the selector, roll the selector to hi-light what you want to open on the list, then push down on the selector to open what you have hi-lighted (example~ Dual Rates & Expo),

3) once you have pushed down on the selector to open Dual Rates & Expo roll the selector to hi-light Elev~ (Elev is shown because it was the last Rate to be adjusted, if Rudder was the last Rate to be adjusted then Ruder would have been shown),,, push on selector, now roll the selector to hi-light Elev or Ailer or Rudder~ push again to open what you have hi-lighted (example~ Rudder),

4) now roll the selector to hi-light Rudder's Dual Rate "switch position 0", roll 1 clic more to hi-light Expo "switch position 0", roll 1 more click to hi-light Dual Rate "switch position 1", roll 1 more click to hi-light Expo "switch position 1", , say you choose Expo (switch position 1), push on the selector and roll the selector to adjust your Expo then push on the selector again to get out,,,, ((no 2, 3 or 4 buttons to push, just roll the selector and push down on it))

D/R and Expo windows looks like this,,,

............ D/R... Expo
Pos-0 100% 100%
...........100% 100%
Pos-1 100% 100%
...........100% 100%

now to get out of D/R & Expo roll selector to hi-light the word "list", push on selector to close D/R's and open Programing List again..

Hover-Pitch trim and Hover Throttle trim are digital, no knobs, they are switches like the Elevator/Aileron trims,,,

the 7 point curve is so cool, it take's a bit getting use-to, meaning to get the curves the smoothest possible, the 5 point curve is simpler to setup but you got-to-know the 7 point curve will make your heli fly smooth/better !!,,, WOW, a smoother flying Raven,,, cool !!,,,

curve window looks like this (example),,,
Point-L 4%
Point-1 15%
Point-2 31.5%
Point-3 50%
Point-4 65%
Point-5 81.5
Point-H 96%

Airplane mode,,
what will interest me is I now have a scale racing plane with Flaps, for those that don't know you can mix Elevator with Flaps, if you don't mix Elevator with Flaps the nose of your plane will most-likely drop down when Flaps are lowered, yes~ my 8103 has a flap system, but with the 9303 I can now slow the flap's so they don't come popping down fast, if the flap's pop down fast this too can disrupted the plane,,, plus the 9303 has servo speed adjusting,,, cool man...

there is much more to this radio programing, but most average flyers wont use 1/4 of it, but what we do use is very useful and very easy to adjust...

I'm Happy I'm Happy oo-yeea baby !!

Jim,

I've been flying a 9303 for about a year now, and I like it also. There is one thing, however, that I dislike about it, and that is the 7 point curves. When you start flying it I believe you will understand why because there are no points at 25% and 75% stick. It makes it difficult to set pitch and throttle at those hover points, IMHO, and would be much easier with 5 point curves.
The government cannot give you anything without first taking it from someone else.

yes I agree, as it took me some time to smooth it out at these spots, but the 7 point is the "new thing" to have,,, it would have been better if it was a 5 point curve with a special Expo just to smooth-out the curve around 25% and 75%, much like the Hover Pitch adjustment but (again) setup special just for the 25% and 75% points..

I wouldn't trade my 9303 for anything. I bought it when i was still flying planks(and hated helis)so it's the airplane version. It still does more than the job for me though. I don't use D/R or expo though.
I like my planes and my heli super sensitive. To me it's seems harder to fly when your bird doesn't react quickly.

well, although I have been flying my plane with my new 9303 I haven't flown my Raven yet with it,, I was changing from channel 51 on my 8103 to channel 20 on my 9303,,

I didn't get my channel 20 crystal yet so when I do fly my Raven I still use my 8103 on channel 51,,, so I didn't get my 20 crystal, didn't get it, and didn't get it, and didn't get it, then I ordered it~ and I didn't get it,,,

then last night I think "Daa !!, Scan-Select, I will just change the 9303 to channel 51 and fly my Raven today",,, oo yeea baby,,,

it rains all day today................

It should have been 9-point curves.

Wasp...
Rain today huh? Well for once I got to get out and fly today with just a short but heavy shower. Got everything wet (thank goodness for pop-up's!). After the rain it was muggy, but it cleared up and we continued flying. I flew my new U-Can-Do 3D 60 today and it's sweet. I also did several rounds of heli flying in anticipation of next weeks heli fun fly in Mooresville, NC. I'm doing better with the nose in stuff, but it's seems that one week I'm good at it and the next I can't hold a hover at all. Today was a good weekend. Dang I guess that means that next weekend will stink!

Later...

I love my 9303.
I've always felt that JR radio's were easier to program than Futaba. I own both brands and like my JR's better. The 9303, as you said, is really a breeze to program. You can always tell the Futaba guys at the field, they're the ones who have their manuals out to program their radios. Although, my buddy just got a Futaba 12mz, I think that is the number, and it is much easier to program than past Futaba radios. It is also much more expensive than the 9303, but, in fairness I think it does more. Although, I think for the average flyer most of the things the Futaba does will probably never be used. Nice radio though. The case is beautiful and feels great in your hands.

OT:
It's not the battery. Your alternator is either overcharging or undercharging your battery. Have that looked at before you ruin another battery.
