T-REX AP Profit?
Ok, so I have a T-Rex SE and I'm thinking about turning it into my first AP ship. Probably will use Kodak v530 or similar camera with the Airfoil mount. The main reason I am considering this venture is to make some extra money with it. I have a full time engineering job, so this would be an evenings-and-weekends thing. I plan on starting off by taking shots of houses in the neighborhood. Then asking around to see who is interested in purchasing said photos.

Considering the limitations of a small heli like the rex (altitude, payload, stability), and the fact that this would just be a one man operation without downlink or a separate camera operator, how practical is this as a money making opportunity? What do people typically pay for aerial photos of their own homes? What other opportunities are there for someone with a setup like this? I know several of you have had success in this area, but I just want to get an idea of how much $ I should realistically expect.

I've been doing it for about 8 months now. There's money there, it just takes time to find you. I started out taking aerials of friends houses...for a fee... then did some door to door advertising with real estate company's. Just landed my first contract with a well known real estate comp in my area. Now with what I've made from my trex I can upgrade to a bigger bird & expand.
Because the rex is limited, you'll find yourself having to turn down alot of potential customers. I had a guy from Century21 call & asked for an aerial of 100 achers of property for his client...sorry, no can do.. Also try to hook up with a local photography business "my wifes idea" turned out to be a great idea! hope this helps alittle...
