Sounds like my ex-wife. And after 10 years, she still wonders how I could leave a woman so wonderful as her.
I used to manage a Radio Shack and not only had to endure that on the phone, but also face to face. If anything, I learned to be a better customer and to complain more effectively, but still politely.
I deal with telemarketers by requesting to be placed on their no call list. This has resulted in incoming calls dropping from several a day to maybe one a week. That I can deal with.
By the way, on one Radio Shack call, the extremely abusive caller demanded my name. I replied, "Bite my shorts" and ended the call. The "gentleman" then tracked down my District Manager and abused him in the same manner. The end result was that the DM kept his cool and I had to write a letter of apology. Hated to do it, but you know what? It is amazing how many times you can write "bite my shorts" in a letter apologizing for said statement. So I guess you could say that in the end, I did indeed have the last laugh.Gerry Cullan,
