Sullivan Starters
I was just wondering if I could run two 6cell car packs in series to my sullivan hi-tork starter? I know it says 12 volts, so will 14.2 really do any damage? I hope I dont need to buy a dynatron, but if i must I will. I just like the Min. Air starter unit that uses 2 battery packs. Thanks

Thanks

I use 2 old 6 cell RC car packs wired in series, and there just taped to my Sullivan starter so I can hold it all in one hand. It's pretty ugly, but it's starts all my helis.

My starter uses two 8 cell packs and start my 90 with ease and the voltage has been no problem.A transplant saved my life. Sign your donors card today

Eric, IMO it's a good starter.
I use two Sullivan battery power pac cases mounted one on top of the other. You can connect just one pack (14.4volts) for almost all starting. Then, via spade connectors, energize the second pack for a total of 28.8 volts. (For starting your truck if it dies at the field)
So far...so good. (Knock on Wood!)
This setup did cost pleanty though.

This Min Air Unit looks really nice, just got it today from Ricks. Have yet to try it out. I was too in a hurry to assemble it, but now that I have assembled it, I wish I would have before I went flying today! Only got two flights in b/c of rain....
Thanks, can't wait to use it!
