3 point vs 5 point throttle curve.

That's a good question. I will leave it to folks with more flying experience to chime in on the values of having more points on the throttle curve.

I would go to your LHS and pick one up and play with it, see if you like it. Again, there are a lot of folks with DX6s driving their helis.

I like your set up plan for sure. When I read it, I wondered why not the Spektrum?

I'm super happy with mine. No worries about what channel anyone's on. Thats a BIG plus imo.

The 3 point curve is no big deal either as far as I can tell. The price makes it an even easier decision.

Good job on the set up picks. After planks, cars, and boats, I learned to get the good stuff first. NO regrets about buying the SE right after learning (and loving) the BCP.

A buddy of mine bot an X400, ended up buying an SE after futal attempts (and $)`to turn his cheap model into an SE.

Just my opinions. Good luck.

I think that a 3-point curve is good enough for electrics. I have my 9C radio 5-point curves adjusted to emulate a 3-point curve (100-90-80-90-100 or 100-95-90-95-100). The electric motor will produce its own back EMF that acts as a governor of sorts. This is the reason that governor mode seems to be more trouble than it's worth with electrics. Adjust desired head speed with pinion size ane run the motor wide open. My speed controller barely gets warm during a full pack run.
