No more Raven for me!
That's right, don't have a Raven any more.

I liked the bellcrank conversion so much on my Falcon, that I converted my Raven, which was originally a Falcon SE V1, to bellcrank eCCPM. For my tastes, it flys better, ballances better, the servos are protected better, and the canopy fits better. Pictures of the conversion in my gallery.

By the way, I call them my Peregrine Falcons. The Peregrine is one of the fastest birds alive, so I thought the name appropriate. (Hope Mr. Chao also thinks so)

Welcome to the team. I am also a true hearted convert. Wouldn't change my Peregrine for anything else. It actually flies better than my Predator 70 (sssshhhh...)

Not sure why Century puts it away, though...

Steve,
So when can I send you some carbon fiber plates so you can make my Hawk Pro like this? You know you want to help a brother out. And you would get to cut up a set of Curtis's crashed frames to do it.
Build it, fly it, crash it. Repeat as often as needed.

Wow. Upgrading a Hawk pro to the Peregrine would transform the Hawk into an even more amazing machine! It's easy to find an excuse to do wrong. Hard is not to find an excuse to do right.

Is there any chance Century could at least put out a conversion kit? It would only need to bring the plates, a couple of spacers and some bolts...

If we could have the tail-servo-under-the-hood conversion kit as well that would be awesome.

We are counting on you to do the sales pitch to them!

Steve,

Thank you for sharing your setup. I am now considering converting one of my Falcons to a "Peregrine" Falcon (as you affectionately named it ) Just need to find some g10 as it is hard to find CF where I live.

This is my Peregrine. It is a Hawk IV turned into a pro and then a Peregrine. I used a SW-4 set up on the standard swash and added a forth servo at the rear.I locked the pitch arm down with extra screws on both sides of arm. Very stable and true.

I'm working on a drawing I can post for the side plates. The bellcranks are from a Falcon or a Hawk. You must use the Raven/Predator style swash plate. Parts that are also needed are two 45 X 3 mm bolts, nuts, and washers, and one additional long pushrod like is used on the aileron servo on a Hawk or Falcon. You will need to fabricate two spacers .27" long with a 3 mm hole to space the elevator bellcrank between the side plates. The government cannot give you anything without first taking it from someone else.

Steve,

That'll be great to see a drawing of the conversion. Maybe marketing the conversion could bring you some extra cash?

and you need the mount for the Falcon/Hawk's anti-rotation bracket,,

the balance with this system must be better, cause of the shorter tail on my old Hawk SEv2 I remember my Hawk was a bit more nose heavy than my Falcon and Raven,,, I like the balance forward a bit..
