N 8 1/2
CY's had his model for quite several months (couple years actually) shortly after the N9 was announced. Since then he's been constantly taking matters into his own hands and evolving it as his mind saw fit.

What you see before you now is the N8 1/2 with all his aftermarket pats, many of them hand made, some very late at night.

Outstanding improvements include but are not limited to...

- muffler on the other side - reduces chance of pilot burning right leg on recovery of model, CY prefers to burn his left leg

- large forward mounted tank (32oz sullivan planker tank), CY likes to fly real fast at the start of his flight, but soon tires and wants to slow down - the heli now does this automatically as the heli is no longer dangerously nose heavy as the tank empties

- t/r on opposite side - CY found that this improves speed and stability when doing backwards inverted pirouetting snake with reversal

- CY found the stock landing gear too high, some club members complained that the grass on the field was being burnt in spots. By lowering the landing gear and hence bringing the model closer to the ground the entire field is now burnt - everybody is happy now.

- rotor head - CY was working in the dark when installing the rotor head and fitted the wrong one (2 years ago) - we can't figure out how to get the 10mm rotor head off the 12mm main shaft so we just let it be.

I myself was not as privileged as CY to receive the kit above so I will be lined up with David (rappyfly) to receive my copy of Harry - er - kit on the 28th. - it's all good .

ManuelCJr1,

Keen observation - that is a Fury fin, but it's made of metal and painted black. Extensive testing showed that the OS 91 SZ PS pump system performs much better with this fin than the stock fin.

...damn, guess I'm bored too.
Can't wait for 3DM...

With all the money spent in extensive testing for this model, it was hard to scrap the funds to pay for the plane ticket to get to Demo the "New" model at The 3D masters...

We are aiming for an Ircha display and demo!

With all the money spent in extensive testing of the N8.5 we had none left to pay for the plane ticket to go to the 3D masters where CY was supposed to compete in the masters class, so we had arranged for him to compete live via satellite.

CY would have easily beaten all other competitors with his vastly superior next generation machine, but now that will not happen since he has been dismissed from the team .

time to edit some video...

THE SYN-URY N 8.5 REVOLUTION !!

"For all you fresh newbies that haven't had to go through the trials and tribulations of heli's being pushed to their limits... watching things explode... going back to the drawing board to make parts better... well you're going to be spoiled now.

20 years ago, these things could barely fly let alone do any type of aerobatics with any reasonable finesse. Times have changed my friends. Cause you see, up until recently, these helicopters weren't designed to do what we basically force them to do. No one could even conceive ten years ago that these machines could even do a fraction of what they do now.

I just want to touch on a point that's in the title of this post. "Revolution". Why is this a revolution you may ask? It's simple really. In the present year 2006, you are witnessing a profound change in the industry. Remember, these helicopters were made up. We basically had to make up the rules as we went along. As the Youngbloods and Bennetts and Krauses and Szabos of the world helped to further the hobby with their type of flying, the machines had to be able to keep up. As you know sometimes they did, and sometimes they didn't. It was a crapshoot whether or not you'd have a boom strike at the end of a death spiral coming out inverted tail first, or if your tail is just going to explode because the machine doesn't implement thrust bearings. The list goes on and on.

In a nut shell folks, the days of having to change out and upgrade parts just to make a heli fly the way we want is over. If there was ever a heli to do just that, you're seeing it right now. The SYN-URY N 8.5 is such a radical change from what we've been used to. This heli is now going to set the "new" standard by which all others must follow or get left behind. For all you engineers out there who know mechanics know exactly what I'm talking about. I don't have to sell you on this point. Just look at the machine and you'll see how everything on the heli just simply makes sense. For those of you who are new to heli's and you don't see what the veterans see, just sit back and relax. It'll all sink in, in time.

When anyone makes a purchase whether it's a car, a house, a boat or a RC heli, you find comfort in knowing that your purchase has something of great value to you emotionally. There is nothing worse than buying something that you get no enjoyment out of. That just puts a damper on your spirit. You want to be able to take pride in your purchase. It's just natural. I don't have to tell any one of you that buying this machine wouldn't give you guys that proud feeling of ownership.

So the revolution is underway. We now have a helicopter that doesn't need upgrades. Parts count is very low. It's VERY VERY reasonably priced. It's simply beautiful to look at. it flys like nobody's business. It stays together. It's simple to maintain. It's light. It's fast. And it'll do more than 90% of us could even make it do. Now haven't we been asking for that for some time now."

If you know what i'm talking about that is funny right threre.

Well today was the day of all days!!! The N 8.5 took to the skies!

All i can say is, Truly AMAZING! The machine held beautiful lines while doing big manuevers and for the low in your face smack down, nothing compares...This new areodynamic canopy style makes the machine cut throught the wind with ease... Sometimes the machine even goes invisible!

FOLKS!!! LOOKS LIKE WE HAVE A WINNER!!!!!!...

We had a camera crew on hand and the pics will soon follow...
