Decrease in Performance
I have a Logo 14 and have experienced a decrease in performance. My set-up is as follows:
Logo 14
Tango 45-07 11 tooth pinion
Jazz 55-10-32
UBEC
4000mAh 10s2p x2
9650 x3
Gy 611
Futaba G3 reciever
Mikado 580mm blades and stock tail blades -11/11 pitch

One battery has approximatly 20 cycles the other 15. Both purchased new and always charged with a TP 1010 charger and 210 balancer. Never put more than 2800 mAh back into them.

Could it be due the warm humid air? Or the batteries getting hotter and less efficent?

Any Ideas?

Thanks,
John

Is every flight like that now or was it just last few flights and was it hot? On super warm days mine seems much more lathargic, on cooler days where the air is more dense it has more lift as well everything just performs much better. What are your ambients and outside conditions...?...Once upon a time there were Nitros, flybars and frequency pins...

Weird...

What kind of decrease are we talking about and do you feel this with both your packs? Does the batteries feel warmer after flying now than they did before?

I crashed it two weeks ago and finished the re-build. Took it out and the ambient temp was in the 90's. Noticed a little less performance. Flew it again yesterday and the temp's were in the upper 80's almost 90. Relative humidity was also up there. Not sure of the battery temps but they were warm but not hot.

Thing is my Nitro machines were making great power.

I have an EagleTree MicroLogger that I will hook-up and get more info.

When do most people see a decrease in battery performance? After 100 cycles?

Thanks,
John

Usually after 100 yes, now another question you say you crashed it. Get any dirt or particles on the motor? Getting any dirt or large amounts of grass etc and then not getting it all out will really harm the motor in a hurry. Just another thought. If you feel you have all bases covered it sounds that your lipos have prematurely detiorated. ...Once upon a time there were Nitros, flybars and frequency pins...

When I crashed there really wasn't much damage. I hit Hold before impact. The canopy was intact and the only damage was to the head. It did go in in some weeds. What should I use to clean the motor?

I don't think it's the lipo's because I find it highly unlikely that both would crap out so soon. Maybe its the Motor? Hope not.

In regards to the motor you can simply blow it out with a duster air can or air compressor with nozzle best you can. Than you need to use a electrcal safe cleaner, like electromag or something like that product where it cleans electrical connections. If you do ever get any amount of dirt in any electrical motor and do not clean it out well prior to flight again it will screw it up. I hope you can find your solution without cost my friend. ...Once upon a time there were Nitros, flybars and frequency pins...

Are your packs the tp 2000 mah cells? If so I have had similar problems, they seem to loose their punch pretty quickly if you ask me. I had an 8S2P 4000 I ran pretty hard on a logo 10 3D and they seemed to loose power relatively fast. I had about 20 cycles on them as well. I also remember talking to Eric Larson at SEFF a year or two ago and he commented on the 2000 cells not holding up well at all either. If the brain was simple to understand, we would all be too simple to understand it.

ls it possible that you rebuilt the head with less pitch after the crash? l have almost the same setup and run 13-13.Flybars. Who needs `em.

Ummmm.
Forgot to say l`m running NHP`s. So could well be less (lift) on these. Not had chance to try the BBT`s yet. No doubt l`ll crash it soon.
Flybars. Who needs `em.

Nah don't say that dude! Ride the pine forever! I think everyones style is different. Right now I am at the stage where I am trying to discipline myself to using as little collective throughout every maneuver, running 10/10 prevents me from using the power of the motor and also trains me to fly through more of the moves rather than pulling or pushing them. May not work for all people but for me I think it is steering me in the right direction. Plus it pulls less amps and is more lipo friendly, I am pretty anal about my lipos. Heh...Once upon a time there were Nitros, flybars and frequency pins...

That all sonds cool to me. The only way l can compare the BBT`s to the NHP`s is the 600`s from my Raptor 50 30% (wash my mouth) days. BBT`s had more lift but would load up easier so we used less pitch.
Buggered if l can load this L14 anyway.
