Micro heli gyros and tail servos
Wanna help Hitec make a better gyro and tail rotor servo?

Help me out here.

What are the most popular gyros being used out there for T-Rex class helis?

What servos are you using with these gyros.

Pros and cons?

gy401 w/ 9650 is a sweet tail setup. Servo is a mini, so it is bigger than a micro, which causes some tail heavy issues, but it doesn't get much better as far as holding power goes!

Suggestion for Hitec gyro: Make sure your gyro has a limit setting capability like the 401, to prevent binding and the ability to change pirouette rate with the ATV's on the rudder channel.

also i had the idea of: on the 401 you have to switch a knob to switch to digital servo of analog or whatever. on the hitec gyro you should make it automatic and the gyro recodnizes it automatically. What the??

GY401 with 9650. Tail rock solid.
Make the servo as fast as the 9254 and as small as the HS65 and then make it all cheap.
Don't Panic!! Oh no, not again!

If you are going to try and compete, you'll have to match the reliability, function and price (and beat one or more) of the 401/9650 combo. The 401 is a great gyro, reasonably adjustable, small, very rugged and very good at holding. The 9650 is used by many, could be a touch faster, but it does run on 6V, making an entire 6V system easy.
