YS91 stops very slowly
It happend suddenly. The engine worked fine but ones when I've turned on HOLD mode it switched to idle were slow (2-3 sec). I disassembled inspected and cleaned carburator, replaced all fuel lines, tested check valve but without result. Now the endine works OK but I cannot switch off engine quickly. I need it to perform autorotation.
PS This phenomena has place when engine has heated up and fuel tank has blown. If I just start engine and switch to HOLD it stops normaly.
This engine is't new (80-90 hrs).
Check valve - 15hrs.
Any ideas?

I would say that the engine is too lean. Open the idle needle until it works fine. I believe that you're not too lean on mid. needle if the engine works fine otherwise.

This thought was the first thing what came to my mind.
I played with idle needle - no result. I have a feeling of ingress of air when the throttle barrel is fully closed.

Alex:

Check the regulator, it can be the diaphragm that's stucked.

My YS 91 has to be run fairly rich on middle-range needle. It's throttle response is poor on the first spool-up after starting, I have to advance throttle slowly for the engine to pick up revs. After 1 minute or so in idleup, it's throttle response improves, as the engines heats up. I know, it should be the other way around, but that's how it works for me. Transition Idleup to TH is instant, still with a reliable idle, no problem with aborting an auto.QuickUK Team Pilot SAB Team Pilot
