Joker 2 with emoli Q?
I have a ready to be flown but not flown Joker 2
and was considering the emoli option for my first pack
as I am still a novice and do not need the best performance
however cost is an issue for me at this stage.
The heli has a 24-4 and a jazz controller - does anybody
have any experience with this M/C combo on emolis's?
I have been told that the pack to be used is a 10s2p
and was wondering whether the speed c. will handle
this battery type.....many thanks.......Simon.

A jazz 55-10-32 is rated for a max of 10 lipo cells so you should be fine with the emolis in a 10S2P setup, I'd be very curious about the flight times, I would guess it would be somewhere around 10 mins....

Anyone else try a set of the emolis yet?

Anthony - thanks for you reply. I have just been following
the thread on the emoli's and it seems they are starting to
see some cells die so maybe I am back to lipo's?
I have priced building my own 10s3p 6000mah pack through
tronics and it comes out much the same as the
emoli cells so maybe I will go that way.
How many people have built their own using cells from
tronics?
Many thanks.......Simon.

Ion-X and EMOLI's = 10 Minute Sport Flying!
rfaster from rcgroups is getting 10 minutes on his Ion-X
EMOLI TESTING -
Bottom line - So far it looks like the 10S2P 6K emoli's will make for a good 10 minute sport flying setup. I'm very excited about this setup and plan to continue to test and log the results to see how the packs stand up over cycles.

10s2p of e moli would weigh the same as 30 cells nimh. I'm still in the dinosour world, i still fly with nimh on the joker-2. i get about 10-12 minutes (timed) of lazy flying ( no 3d). my headspeed only around 1400 though (IB 4200 NiMh)

Funny you ask about the Jazz 55... I'm waiting on the Power Jazz... and need an ESC for Ion-X #2... but I really don't want to buy another Hacker 70. Fritts on "the Site that can no be mentioned on this site" is testing a Jazz 55 on a 10S Ion-X setup. As long as we keep the max amp down - Sport flying it should not be a problem.

On the Emoli's 10s2P'S - I'm running 1880 to 1900 HS and can fly for 10 minutes. I have even tested and flown a 10S1P emoli setup a few times and get a good 5 minutes and the heli feels very similar to my Evo 3700 10S1P setup. Check out my pics on RCG - I was wondering if my parallel packs would fit inside the Joker? If I had to make packs specifically for the Joker (end to end solder) that would be a bummer.

I was thinking the same thing until I saw this easy end to end method. I have a Maxi Joker v1 and it's the only way a 10s2p emoli pack will fit.

Rfaster - could you please post the pics of
your Joker set-up here as I could not find them
elsewhere? Are they expecting these cells to
get good cycle life at these currents?
Thanks.......Simon.

Phil - ha that's Fritts web-site. I did not realize he was soldering end-to end for his Lepton batteries. I was not saying it would be hard to do the end-to-end ( I was going to use a hammer solder tip) - my point was that I would like to have batteries I can use amongst my 90 size E heli's... and if I did up some packs end to end I would only be able to use these on the Joker. I am able to use Emoli's on the Ion-X in either a 10S1P or 10S2P --- I also plan to use these same packs on my Rex 600's - in a 5S2p configuration for sport flying.

Simon - at the rate I'm going I will probably have a Maxi Joker 2 in the near term - but as of yet I only have my Ion-X's as 90's - thus the issue with not being to use the 10S2P emoli packs that I already have and use on the Ion-x.

rfaster,

I'm thinking about doing the same thing, using the batteries in different configurations. It would be nice if these batteries would just snap together like legos.
