Battery Balance
I have been using an E-Power 11.1v 1300 mah Lipo for about three months now and it has suddenly lost alot of flight time. At first I thought it was the main motor, but I replaced that and no luck. Everything else is in perfect condition.

I tested the voltage after charging it with the $9.00 helidirect charger (It charges through the balance lead). It was a full 12.6v. Is it possible to have a cell out of balance and have 12.6v at full charge? It flies great for 10 minutes then BAM, seems like the voltage drops cause the pack craps out. The bat pack is warm after flight, not hot. I can't remember if it was warm after flying when it was new.

Any suggestions are helpul. Thanks.

I use the same battery, and just curious, how long do you charge it for? No instructions came with it and all I know is you have to keep an eye on them while charging.

I usually charge for about 30-45 minutes. If I charge longer than that, the chopper get's switchy and it's harder to fly.

Anyway, just wondering.

K-Dog,

I would charge it for about 50 min to a little over one hour. When the red light would blink once every 5 seconds or so, I would call it good.

I have never had any problems with it before. I guess if it is toast, 20 bucks is not so bad (Still sucks). Before it junked out, I would fly easily for 15 minutes. I did not go much beyond that because I did not want to over discharge the pack. I have gone throught about fifty cycles with this pack (.40 cents per flight).

Any Lipo experts out there?

Is it possible to get this thing back to or near original condition?

battery life
I also use the same battery, but` use a charger(Pro PeakProdigy 2, that allows me to monitor the charge rate, battery voltage and time of charge. After the charge is completed the charger will show me how many ma's the battery has taken. If the battery has taken over 85% of its full rated capicity you are over discharging the LiPO which will dramaticlly shorten its life span.
If you are charging just by time a using a simple "wall charger you should get yourself a better charging system. They are costly but will save you money in the long run in battery replacement.
Hope this helps.
