Damper & Paddle impressions with R50V2
Hi, I wanted to speed up the roll and pitch rates on my 'Velociraptor' for stationary flips and rolls so I installed the white paddles and red dampers. I like the paddles but the red dampers caused the heli to be more pitch and trim sensitive which I did not like. The sound of the blade slap was very loud and I had fun pulling a lot of G's and making a big racket with the red dampers. In the end though I reinstalled the blue stock dampers and I like thier smoother and more predictable handling over a wide speed range. Note that I still fly a bit like a plank pilot. I cover a lot of ground when I fly! Maybe 3D pilots who seldom fly straight for more than a few feet probably would just want the hard reaction of the red dampers. I really like the effect of the white paddles and hope to try the green ones soon. I'd appreciate anyone's input or observations as I am about the only Heli pilot at my club! I had read a review of the Raptor in I think 'R/C Heli' where they said the heli needed red dampers to fly 3D well. Is a smoother setup death for 3D? Eric

Green paddles and red dampers.
Stock dampers will result in a boom strike eventually.

And pitch sensitive is usually more a paddle alignment problem more than anything else

Red's and Greens here to.

Pitchyness in the wind is noticeable but you just fly round it so you can have the crisper responce and stiffer damping that the combo offers.

Try infinivation dampeners, softer around center but harder at the extremes.Andy

I need to try me a set of those infinivation dampers, heard lots of good things about them. Just the price that scares me.
