Sold my sacrificial lamb today....ahhh no more nitro...
Well it was a happy and sad day. My sacrificial lamb is no more, lol. Sold my last of my nitro birds today, and feel pretty dam good about it to, it was a Raptor 50, and boy it took some Lickens while I had it! I know this is totally off topic, but since I hang in this particular forum the most I thought to share my joy, lol. No more nitros for me, they served me well but they are like Model T cars to me now. Two Logo 14s and a T-Rex is my entire fleet now days. Now what do I buy to replace the lamb? Might try a Roxxster 55 or a MXR500 "when or if they release" me thinks, just to arouse my curiousity.......hmmmmmm Interesting days ahead, be well my fellow Logo heads.

Wooohooo!! Its a great feeling isnt it?

I was kind of nervous when I ditched my trusty raptor to just go with my Logos since I didnt have too much experience with them, but today I am really happy I did - the Logos serves me well and I dont fly any less than my fellow nitro flyers

Maybe its time for you to get a 90 sized bird? Not much to choose from though... Ion X and Jokers?

MXR is the new MA heli right? I am not sure if I it too much - looks unnecessary complex

Yea Lorents, you know last time out my Rappy flew real good, like a charm. But you know I threw up my L14 right after and the power difference and the preceision was night and day. The of course wiping it down with windex, cleaning, cleaning and more cleaning, than my hands smelling of poo I decided then I was done that rodeo. I do not think there will be regrets no one bit to be honest. Ion, not sure thats a lipo hog but still cool machine but I have not been able to find a decent used one in the last 3 times I posted looking for one. Joker, well that to me is a camership not really a hard 3D machine as it is real heavy tank. I think this new MinAir MXR500 is going to be a machine to be reckoned with as it uses 10S Lipos, as well it has been geared for 620 mains and up to 95 mm tail blades. We shall see, it is certainly all good though....Once upon a time there were Nitros, flybars and frequency pins...

Hehe, looking around for a new bird is the fun part of this hobby, isnt it?

I guess you have the new trex 600 and the new e-raptor but the trex made a huge mistake with the weird battery compartment. The e-raptor looks ok - but its a bit booring

I am really missing a 3D capable 90-sized e-bird. Something with a simple design like the Synergy - actually it is a perfect candidate for a conversion but thats too much hassle...

Whatever you choose I am sure it will be a lot of fun

T-Rex screwed up royally. I could care less how many videos they pump of Alan flying it like a madman, it is only that good because it is him flying it. Anyone with normal collective managament is going to be dissapointed in the rex 600, common sense tells me this as the rex 600 is heavier than my Logo 14s on 6S,,,, um yea. E Raptor, not even going to consider that bird it's a tank. Anyhoooo I don't really know that a 90 ship is going to make my hair fly back to be honest, simply as it is only abit easier to see and more stable and I fly everything max cyclic action, max power etc, kinda opposite to everything a 90 stands for imho lol. I guess the louder motor, blades frapping, and sheer size might be abit cool but I have never been "wowed" by 90s at my field to be honest. Either of my Logos are far more ballstic than any 90 yet I have seen and I seen all the hottest setups. Right now my thoughts are a MXR500 on 12S or converting one of my L14s to a 12S setup to try, that might be kinda crazy, stay tuned. ...Once upon a time there were Nitros, flybars and frequency pins...

James,

I think that you owe it to yourself, even if you need to sell one of your Logo 14's, to go out and buy a shiny new Ion-x! I assure you you will not be disappointed.

If you configure your battery pack properly you can share the same cells. The new formulation Evo20 5s1p 3700 packs can allow you to run them as 10s1p for the Logo 14 and either 10s1p or 10s2p for the Ion-x. This gives you lots of operational flexability.

I really do not think that going to a newer 50 sized one like the mrx500 or Trex600 is going to give you much of a better buzz than your Logo 14. On the other hand, the Ion-x will rock your world!

Personally, I think it's best to have a good balanced heli fleet, rather than simply hone in on one model. Others like to only have a couple of good ones of the same type (like your 2 logo 14's). And, of course, some like to have a number of all of them! This is really a personal (and financial) choice you must make.

Just my 2 cents.

Cheers,

Tom C

I added a 3dmp2e to my L10, L14 fleet - it rolls twice as fast as the L's, spins 600 blades with ease and you can share 10s batteries with your L14's. Just a thought...

Shawn,

How about the Revolution E-powered Kit? German made kits are always top-notch!

Made in germany.
Weight "all up" approx. 4,7 kg.

Including carbon fibre landing skid

Including carbon fibre front tray

All important parts on this helicopter are combined with ball bearings and are made of tempest CNC aluminium

Easy rotor head configuration for different setups like "beginner", "soft 3D", "expert 3D", "FAI" etc.

Electronical 120º and 140º ccpm with special TriLink swash plate control and push pull bell cranks.

Easy upgrade to our optional mechanical collective mechanism.

Rock solid heavy duty main frame, made from one piece tempest CNC aluminium which is stronger than composite material or carbon fibre.

Belt driven tail rotor straight from the main rotor shaft (one stage gear transmission)

Tail rotor rubber-kevlar belt, without any static electric chargements

Direct tail rotor control with our special pipe tail ruder control mechanism

Easily built and repaired, because of less parts compared to other models.

Multifunctional front frame which also acts as safety case for your receiver, accu and other control electronics.

Almost enough place for big sized 6V-accu-packs wrapped in damping material at the inner front tray

Easy convertible to nitro version (with additional parts: fan, clutch and fuel tank

Hi Westbeach,

I havent thought about that one. Can you get it as a e-kit right away or do you have to get a nitro kit and convert it?

Oh, sorry Logoheli but the Align guys really messed up the battery configuration of the trex. The 10S packs that we allready use in our L14's cant be reused in the trex, and a 6S config is just a joke

I agree with Lorents, I am not one bit interested in a rex 600. And the mechanics of that one there westbeach shows looks interesting indeed however I do not like the looks of it one bit. Think I am going to sit for abit and see what the mxr 500 looks like as well see what is developed over the next month to two. Interesting stuff though....Once upon a time there were Nitros, flybars and frequency pins...

O,
I'm sure if you wait a few more months there will be lots of 30-50 sized heli's out there. Older ones will be updated and improved, and new ones will appear that seem to have it all!

I would be interested to know why you would even consider going to any of these when you already have 2-Logo 14's, which in my opinion are the best 30-50 sized ones out there. What do you really hope to gain by going to something else?

I can see the logic in going to something bigger like the Ion-x, but I also know and appreciate that this still is a pretty expensive option. As the price of Lipos goes down, and there C ratings increase, 90 size heli's will probably be the next big electric growth area.

Cheers,

Tom C
