I have used one
I got one in my Hornet and it works awsome. But for the trex i went with the Futaba 6ip. Everyone seems to get glitches if it is not a PCM. Speed some cash it might save you in the long run.

Lots of glitches going on. Stay away. Get a Shadow instead.

The crystal does not hold on so at least make sure you solder it in.
It's easy to find an excuse to do wrong. Hard is not to find an excuse to do right.

I have two of them and they work fine for me. No problems at all. I just use a little Goop on the crystal to keep them in place.

GWS RX is ok, but prone to glitched in helicoptrs. I used them in planes without any problems, but I have had them glitch in chopper setups.-= I know there is Money in RC helicopters. I put it there=-

The only place I'd use a GWS receiver is in a foamy plank or cheap, "disposable" trainer.

The lowest end Rx I'd use in a helo is a Futaba 146IP (I only fly Futaba so if you're a JR etc.. guy, use your own preference) and that would be for a relatively inexpensive helo.
A helicopter is 10,000 parts spinning rapidly around an oil leak.

TRex with GWS receiver is scary
I flew my TRex XL for about 10 hours with the GWS receiver. I would get occasional throttle glitches. It was scary to have glitches. I replaced it with a futaba 146ip. Much better. Now the GWS receiver is in a GWS tigermoth, it still glitches but I can handle it.

I use the GWS in foam planks, d-wings etc, I have one in a glider that disappears in to the clouds (well nearly). I even have one in a Zoom 400 but in my new TREX I've opted for the Align 6CH
