Which one
I've been flying models since '73 but only recently got into heli's (I don't know why I waited so long). Anyway as a Newbie I can tell you get the one that is supported by your local hobby shop/club as that is where you will need to go for help and assistance in setting you copter up. My local Hobby shop was excellent in helping me set up both my copters and I must say I do like my Sceadu Evo 50. I haven't flown anything else so my opinion is limited. Go for Parts availability and support by your local club or hobby shop because if you do need just something little to fly on sSunday and it's friday night your local shop can have the part for that Sunday flight.

It's simple. When you need a spare part there's a good chance one of your flying buddies has it. When you're the odd man out you're entirely on your own.

Plus its alot easier to get help with setup and problem solving if a few people are flying the same thing. Once you get some experience you can fly whatever you want. You can surely start out that way but it will just make life harder.Andy

I had them all
I have had all 3 and was flying all 3 at the same time. The Raven certainly was a easy machine to build next to the Raptor. Raven had many upgrades that the other birds did not have BUT my 2 favorites are the EVO .50 and Raptor 50. You should see what other flyers are flying near you. You will get support if you have the same machine then later when you decide you can leave the nest and experiment for yourself.

I am not going to bad mouth Hirobo, TT or Century because I can sit here and list all the negative's of each bird. I just figure out a way to work around the negative's

Right now I am only flying Hirobo because it suits my style of flying and yes the big one "CUSTOMER SUPPORT". MRC (JG) is only 20 mins from the house so if there is a problem he's right next door.

Good luck with your choice. When you pick one out there are plenty of people to help you here on RR.

Your best choice would probably be Hirobo then. I would not recommend MA(IMHO way too expensive to fix).

""Plus its alot easier to get help with setup and problem solving if a few people are flying the same thing""

I feel it's just a cop-out flying a given brand just because everyone else is !!, when I learned to fly the guy that helped me flew a JR CS 80, I bought a Hawk, after he hovered my Hawk a few times to tune it I got into FF and he never touched my heli again, and he never worked on it once, I did all the work...

Jim, I really don't understand your point. Let's face it, although the Raven is not as popular as a Raptor or Evo, you're not the only one flying it, are you?

""Jim, I really don't understand your point"",,, that's par,,,,,,, my point is I don't think someone should buy something (or a given brand) just because many others have, what if every-person at "turbogti" field was flying a JR Vibe, would you tell him to buy a Vibe, I hope not !! I mean are you going to buy a new purple VW Beatle just because 30 of your neighbors are driving them ?,

""you're not the only one flying it, are you?"" yes, at my field I am..

WOW great point Jim.
I've noticed that most raven onwers hardly complain if at all about their Ships.

Although the same can be said about the sceadu.

What hirobo has over century so far is it customer support and this is from broswsing forum only.

I really didn't know that this would be such a difficlut disission.

yes, at my field I am..
Then there's probably a good reason why....

Fly what you like and like what you fly. I don't see the point of being different for the sake of being different. Are you going to buy a Yugo just because your 30 neighbors are driving their purple VW Beatles?

I ordered something from Century once. I'll never order anything from them again.

sceadu
i trained on a hawk sport and then flew a raven for a few weeks. when i was able to try a friends sceadu 50 i immediatly bought a sceadu and sold all my Century stuff. I am not putting down there heli. but to me the sceadu flies better.

Just get a Stratus and be done with it! You won't be sorry!

LOL just kidding... I agree with the statement though that a Raven flies like a fury/Stratus. I haven't flown a sceadu but I have flown a Freya 90. I just flew my Stratus and it flies very nicely. Much better than the Freya IMO and I can honestly say that my Raven flies close to it.

Cough up the though and get a Trex and a Stratus, learn on the Trex, perform with the Stratus...

jk

Raven still gets my vote... no sceadu's at my field, bunch of freya's though.
