bad elevator control
Hi

I have a Raptor 30 V2 with light (white) paddles running a H/S of about 18-1850 RPM with glass blades and the stock head.

the problem I have is that when in a hover all corrections etc are nice and responsive however if i put in a lot of elevator forwards the heli tips foward nice and quick and sustains the speed but if I pull it back it is really sluggish and slow in fact a fraction of that when putting forward in.

I have it well trimmed out (mechanically then fine tuned on the tranny) with equal end points servo arm is at 90 degrees to the pushrod etc etc.

Is there anything i can do to get it to be more responsive and sustain the speed when flipping it backwards.

your help is greatly apreciated

Check your Travel Adjust and Exponential settings on your radio for Elevator. Forward and backward settings should be equal.

I have done that in fact all expo rates etc are at 0 then end points are exactly the same on all of the cyclic controls.

when i flew it i thought it might be that but to no avail

cheers for the suggestion though mate thanks.

anyone think it could be a CG issue although it is pretty much spot on?

great nminds think alike Phaedrus lol i honestly dont think it will be that though as i would of though it would get worse as the tank ran out but it dont seem to and it aint that far out i dont think any way ill try adding me some ballast

if anything i think its slightly tail heavy though when balanced on the fly bar with an empty tank

Try cyclic to throttle mix.

stuck some throttle to cyclic mix in but still seems to do it for some daft reason.

I wouldnt mind but it flies ok other than this one thing it seemed to start after i swapped the paddles over from the stock blackies.

think i may just go for some of the x-cell paddles or the lime green ultralights and see if still does it

It could be that the wind is effecting the model, if the only thing changed was the paddles. If it is worse with the greenies, that would indicate the source of the problem. I settled on the whites as the best compromise between the blacks and greens.

If you hover nose into wind, the heli wants to move forwards. If you then reverse the heli, it wants to reverse into the wind. Therefore it is impossible to trim correctly.

I was flying it last night in the wind but it didnt make a difference to slow aft cyclic i have tail into or out of wind or even side onto the wind.

the heli is very well trimmed in the hover (about 6-8 secs hands off hover) so i really cant see it being a trimming issue especially since i trimmed it mechanically as close as possible.

I have also flown it with no wind and it seems to be the same

cheers for your suggestions
