Problem with tail
Hi
Has anybody had this problem with the tail casing.
When I spool up the throttle the heli hovers for a couple of seconds then the casing will tilt to the right, looking from the rear (Look at the photo, not very good photo but you get the idea)I have checked the screws and they are tight and even changed them for the microhelico upgrade screws but still get this problem, the belt is not loose either, any help on this would be great
Thanks

Do you have the metal or plastic tail housing?

If plastic, there is a little tit on the inside of the left piece that fits in a hole on the boom to prevent rotation.
It might be broken.

If it's the metal tailcase you would need to tighten it up some more.

It's not actually moving the boom just the tail housing which is plastic by the way.

That's what I meant...the tail housing rotates..

If plastic, there is a little tit on the inside of the left piece

I have not taken the case apart yet but i have looked on the plans but cant see any small plastic piece on the left part of the caseing,
however the plans dont actually show the full interior of the left side so maybe i will have to take the case apart and have a look.
If I need to buy a new case will the trex 1 fit.

If you open the tailcase,

1-you should see a hole near the end of the boom on the left side
2-looking at your left plastic tailcase ,you should see a small spot where the plastic tit would've been

This should tell you whether you had it or not.

I don't know for sure if Trex tail will fit.
I do know there are some minor differences in boom diameter...

Good luck!

tail rotation
I had the same problem. Get some double sided scotch tape. It is thin enough not to split the case open. it gives your case something to stick to while the screws do the clamp. happy flying...

Screw it on...
Drill a small pilot hole where the tit should be and use a short machine screw with threads that will fit the shaft and screw the tail housing in place.

She won't rotate at all then. don't worry about the belt it will cear the screw just fine.

As per ru-ready's suggestion and in my case, I used a 4-40 screw and it works like a charm. I drilled a hole thru the tail fin and case and screwed in the 4-40 screw...the tail case ain't gonna rotate.

Cheers,

Gord.
