Tell us all about your vacation...

I just visited a place Called martin head...it's in a hard to reach place along the Bay of fundy...we watched the 28 foot high tides and explored an island at low tide...ate and relaxed along the pristine 2 mile beach...best of all it FREE camping and all..!!
Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.... Dennis

More of a fact finding mission, and less of a vacation, but I got to visit a friend at his job flying offshore, down in South La. I only had 2 days to make a 1000 mile roundtrip. Silly to others, but I got more out of watching a 4 minute takeoff of this 407 than I would have gotten in 2 days staring at ocean waves. But Dennis, sounds like you had a good time too.

Different strokes...

Not exciting, but I spent the week of the 4th at my uncle's place in Minocqua, Wisconsin. Six days of fishing, boating and my first time on a WaveRunner (too fun to describe). Didn't catch squat for fish, there was too much boat traffic and the fish went deep. But, for me, it's not about the catching, it's about the fishing. The pic below is from a trip there on Memorial Day weekend.

Nothing like the high deserts of the SW US with family and friends. 20+ trips and counting over the last 5 years. Tents and bags when the weather's good, motels when it's not. Higher elevations when it's hot, lower elevations when it's cold. Fresh-brewed coffee in the morning, frosty cold beverages all day long.

The good ol' days are now.

I'm going to Cape Cod this weekend for a Striper fishing tourny, then in 3 weeks we got a mansion for a week on Cape Hatteras (avon, NC) - a week of surfing, sun, fishing, and getting ROWDY! haha

Pics to come.

I don't really get vacation as I have to keep earning money, because when I go back to school (to complete my senior thesis) I won't have much time to work.

At any rate, I'm working on a project car on the nights and weekends, which is a lot of fun. And last weekend my buddy took me out on a deep sea fishing trip (first time out deep sea). So here's a picture of the smallest of the four Amberjack I caught. The others with me caught a black fin tuna (~35lb monster), black tip shark (5ft!), a few red grouper, a snapper, and a yellow tail. Those Amberjack fight like nobody's business!

Thanks...my crappie feel quite inadequate now.

Went deep-sea fishing once in California. It didn't agree with me, if you get my drift. I'll stick to lakes.

drksky.... maybe I can cheer you up with my crappy vacation. It was suppose to be last week. I wasn't going anywhere, I just wanted to fly all week long.

I had to get my DOT physical done so I could be legal. (truck driver) That ended up takeing most of monday because I didn't make an appointment. I did manage to fly all day on tuesday. It was 95 degrees and about 75% humidity.

Then I got a phone call around dinner time asking me to come in the rest of the week because one of the other guys had a death in the family. So the last 3 days of my vacation were spent moveing trailers in our 1974 model R mack yard truck (no... it doesn't have AC) in 90 degree weather. I normally am on the road all day in my 2004 Kenworth with my XM radio and AC... but someone had to do this other guys work while he was gone. It sucked. Not to mention the fact that I was working 12 hour days and won't get any overtime because I don't get it till I'm over 40 hours. Next week I'm takeing mon-wed off and I'll still get screwed on overtime. The boss barely gave me a thank you. I think its 'cause he knew I was pissed off being there.
