I have heard about a motor called just go fly 450th.
supposed to be the bomb.
as for speed controllers i would have to say go with castle creations.
they have a system you hook up to your computer and you can get updates and program it from there.
batterys.....you will have to ask someone else.

I'm running a Hitec Electron 6, 4 Hitec 56 servoes, a CC35 ESC, TP and Apex batts(2100) with 15 amp power output, motor is the newest of the Align motors,

helkis does well,

but if you are into hard 3D, better spend a bunch more for really fancy stuff

Use a futaba digital micro servo on the tail. I think they are called Fut 9650. I love em =)
IF you can, use HS85 metal gear servos for the cyclic. Thats some serious tick-tocking power for the swashplate =D Keep headspeed low and keep an eye on your pitch as always.. and start with the smaller pinions and work your way up. Enjoy your TREX. I started in nitro too, and now I'm all electric accept for my raptor. You'll love the little monster trex once you fly it a few times. It'll do anything the big guys do, just less stable.

got to http://www.trex-tuning.com. remove the hyphen, its an illegal word on RR. you'll find all of your information there as to what is good and what is not.

Nice prize!.

My XL (which fly's great) is set up:

Just Go Fly 450TH with 13 tooth pinion 55 USD
Jazz 40-6-18 around 160 USD
Hitec HS-55 on swash (they work great and are inexpensive)18USD each
Mavrik 325 C/F blades
Thunder Power Prolite 2100 mah 75 USD excellent fit well in heli
The gyro you have and a 9650 in digital mode is a great combo.

A bunch of people I fly with have similar set-ups.

You can't go wrong with any of the suggested stuff, just stay away from Align electronics and you will love it.

HS65MGs for Aileron, Elevator and Pitch. GY401 gyro w/9650 servo for TR control. The Medusa motors have been getting good reviews as has the 450TH. CC35, Jazz, Kontronics are all good ESCs - get something in the 35A range.
A helicopter is 10,000 parts spinning rapidly around an oil leak.
