I'm sure it's possible but you would have to be a serious stick banger to break it. I would think so at least, smooth tick tocks and piro flips arent that bad on it unless you are REALLY rough on the sticks which would be evident in the head speed long before you tear the head apart. Wouldn't you think? In God we trust, everyone else we monitor.

Pete,

I was refering to the guys first post where he stated "he was told he needed it". Not what you said. I agree with the insurance thing. Cheap fix to a known problem when you are doing some SERIOUS beating on it.

I will say that is the one piece you don't want to fail!!! No coming back from that one.

Bundy, question. You said your head is set up for auto's??? So you are running +10,-10 give or take like just about everyone? Were you trying to kill it doing max rudder piro flips? Sounds like it Dude, it's a rappy. You gotta take it easy

shawgl, frankly you don't know what you are talking about. I am not a stick banger and I broke the plastic head block clean in two during a tic-toc. The heli suffered quite a bit of damage even though it was only 10 feet off the deck when the head popped off and flew about 200 feet in the air.

Hook, I didn't say you Had to be stick banging. And I'm not insultinf yo skills yo. I just find it hard to believe that it is a serious problem with them to where it's a very common occurance. Did you talk to TT about it? What did they say after you sent it in? Bubbles in the plastic or what? Or did you just buy a metal one? I would bet your a$$ to the bottom dollar it tore some stuff up when it broke!!! You would naturally imagine it would. Now the question is.... We have established that it has happened. Now how many times has it happened versus how many are flying around out there? That determines the severity of the situation and whether it should be looked at as an essential item or not. And of course because it did happen to you in the past your natural response is going to be it is 100% chance it will happen because that is what happened to you.In God we trust, everyone else we monitor.

It has happened to me, pitch pumping +/-10 at 2K, about 6 and i went to pull up from the bottom of a -10 and the head went up and the heli went down

Luckily no damage, even if only treating the heli carefully but with a high HS they tend to develop slop after 5/6 gallons so if your a hard flyer or big fuel burner then as said above its good insurance to replace it.

I just do a lot of aerobatic auto so I run the stock parts on my auto bird so the crash costs are lower....I was not trying to kill it,but I was flying "angry" and just doing everything as violent as possible that day.
