So, if you cannot discharge to more than 80% of the capacity why is the full capacity of the battery quoted higher
.

You think that is bad? You should see HP ratings on motors.

I believe that is called over-promise and under-deliver.

Budgy...thanks for updates...nice to know where we stand with this technology at hand.

Bottom line...common sense prevails.

eMoli as an alternative
I guess the LiPo technology will fall into past technology archive once eMoli's become more popular and more freely available

eMoli's certainly sound lot safer.

eMoli's the future? Heavier, lower charge density and quite a few reports of cell failures now, look how long Overlander has been trying to push the Saphion packs using similar lithium ion cells in cans, I can't actually say I've ever seen anyone using them. I know they are more durable than lipo's but I think its lipo technology that will keep on improving and hopefully cheaper.Steve -Trex 700N, Trex 600N, Raptor 550E, 450SE, Mini Titan, Logo 5003D, Beam E4

I think that the type of technology that eMoli has is the future because of the lower price. They will undoubtedly improve them over the years and right now are still the most bang for your buck.

If you have lots of money then definitely go for the expensive LiPo packs – it’s just a matter of how much money you want to spend.
