I have a trex which I can roll, loop and crash but no ama card so I guess I will come watch one day.

the field is 37 miles from downtown Wichita(where I live), estimated time 51 minutes. Cheney is only 17 miles away but I dont know if they have hotels there

Check with your local hobby shop or call the AMA directly. You could probably register and they could give you a number or possibly fax you a temporary card so that you can fly this weekend.

Well, how about a report and some pictures? The government cannot give you anything without first taking it from someone else.

I had a great weekend at the Clubman 3D contest! I didn't take any pictures, but perhaps Buzz could provide some. It was held at the Clearview Field, which is a beautiful facility. It is one of the nicest flying fields i've ever been to. Ken and Kim were the hosts for the funfly, and man did they come through! Breakfasts, lunches and dinners were served and all were bountiful and excellent.

The turnout was light (perhaps 20 pilots total?), and there were only three clubman and three novice competitors. The weatherman predicted doom and gloom, but the actual weather wasn't bad at all. There was plenty of time for open flying, and i burned a fair amount of fuel.

The competition itself was put on by Buzz of Magnum fuels, and he did a really great job of organizing the event. It was a low key and very friendly competition, which made it all the more enjoyable. I really learned alot through the process of putting together a 4min freestyle performance to music, flying a series of defined maneuvers precisely (not!), and doing all this in front of judges! I would strongly recommend any aspiring aerobatic pilot to go through the process.

I am hoping that this inaugural event will be the beginning of a successful yearly non-professional 3D aerobatic heli competition.

Thanks to Buzz, Kim and Ken and all those who helped for putting on such a fun and classy event.

I too had a great weekend and would like to thank Clearview Field, Ken, Kim and their helpers for hosting the event and making us feel at home. The field was the nicest I had seen and the food was excellent.

Thanks to Buzz and his helpers for putting on such a fun event. I look forward to next years Clubman 3D.
