I have a 450XL CDE version, is anyone using this radio with a Hitec receiver to fly a Rex? If so I need some help with the set up. I'm running into some confusion on how to get the proper swash movement. I've got the servos as follows, aileron channel 1, elevator ch. 2, and pitch in ch.6. I have the radio set for 120 degree swash. To get the proper swash movement as noted in the directions I had to reverse servos 1 & 2. I initially set all control arms at 90 degree angles and level to each other with the swash level and zero pitch. This was with the left stick all the way down and in normal mode, all servos centered with zero trim. My initial programing is in normal mode. All seems ok until I give full up left stick. The problem I'm encountering is the servos are binding at full pitch as they are moving too far. I moved the ball links in on the servo arms to lessen the travel however this was not enough. So I enter the EPA mode to adjust the travel. The only way I can get it to keep from going too far is to go to the "R/D" side of the servo movement and reduce the value from 100 to zero. I then set the pich and throttle curves noted in the T-rex directions. Now the problem is the pitch is at the max of 11 degrees at 3/4 throttle. The last 1/4 of the left stick nothing happens as the swash is all the way up.

Problem #2. How do you get negative pitch in idle up 1? I set the curves for the throttle at 100, 85, 80, 85, 100, but I can only get positive values for the pitch. In other words with the left stick all the way down and the flight mode switch in idle up 1 I have 11 degrees of positive pitch. I need the servos to move the swash down when the stick is all the way down in idle up 1 and I can't figure out how to do that. I've read the manual for the radio numerous times, and I'm affraid my little brain just aint gettin it!

I'm a bit embarrased I can't figure this out can anyone help?

HS56 servos. It has to be something simple as I know this radio/receiver combo was popular at one time.

I think you need to back up a bit, if your pich is 0 its - and 100 is + and at 50 your servo arms sould be at 90 deg.

I have the same setup, and here's the settings:

Channels 1,2, and 4 are reversed

EPA for 1 and 6 at 90%, adjust as needed for pitch.

Servo arms have balls in the second hole from center.

Swash +70 on 1,2 and 6

Pitch curve normal 50%, lnh, 75%, lnh, 100%
Pitch curve idle up 0,lnh, 75, lnh, 100%

I need to work on the idle up, but the important thing here is to set the swash level at 50%!! That way 0% is full negative.

I have the servo contolling the left front swash ball as channel 1, and the right front as channel 6, also, I swapped the tail servo and I think I had to reverse the channel on it from the original HS50.

I think I see the problem. I set everything level with the left stick all the way down. Should I set the left stick in the middle and then set everything level? At this point I assume I can get 0 pitch for normal mode by using the pitch curve

go into your pitch cerv and set all 5 to 50%
next set all your sub trims to get your servo arms to 90 deg.
next set your pitch back to 0-25-50-75-100
