Probably all know this who bought a new Rex kit and therefore had the instructions - the links SHOULD only be put on the balls with the "A" to the OUTSIDE! They are one way so we can not give them a 180 turn but must adjust atleast a full (360) turn. I met a Rex owner yesterday that came to my house who bought his Rex used so had no knowledge of the Align links and it is not something you can see looking at one - NOT to insult anyone here but putting these links on "backwards" will lead to REALLY TIGHT controls and surely lead to some of the problems I am reading in posts tonight. This person bought a sizing tool to "open up" tight links which could leave them able to pop off when given to large a diameter - Again nearly everyone knows this BUT those who miss this point sure are up against what will result in awfully tight links and poor handling. A small point with large implications! Hope this helps someone with the "A"s facing the wrong way and now will get the smooth action that leads to solid control.

Good point, I have to use a magnifying glass to see the little "A". Sometimes I can feel it with my finger, but many times I tried, with obvious difficulty, snapping them on backward.

Yes I wish Align would pay a patent fee and make up some micro "Rocket Links". In my opinion that would be awesome, you would then always be able to get your tracking and rods that much better. If you have used or use rocket links you will understand this statemet completely. There ya go Align, make us some micro rocket links!!!!

Willy that is a good point about popping off inward - do you get them nice and smooth by plier squezzing or heat or reaming? It seems I take many of my links off and it would be so hard to do with the A inward and would seem they would deform after awhile of off and on(?)

For them to actually pop off towards the inside wouldn't you have to assemble them backwards, prior to tightening the ball itself?

Someone posted awhile back that he did take the ball OFF and put the link on backwards so he could get just a "half" turn - he did not push it on with the extra force needed.

Where do you get the Rocket links - do they fit the ball size we are using with the Rex?

Yup, I remember that post. From what I recall it was because he was unaware of adjusting the lower pitch arms for fine tuning of tracking.

I am the dummy who had the A's to the inside on some of my links.... I didn't build either of my heli's so I wasn't aware of this simple tidbit of info.

Hi Ron - you are certainly no dummy and without the note in the instructions no one could tell about the a - it is hard to see even when we know it is there - is your tracking fixed?

Larry, I didn't mess with it when I got home Saturday night. Instead spent the rest of the evening getting the little grey 450X set up.

Sunday I got out to the airport and flew my airplane to another airport for one of those 100$ hamburger lunches, then flew back and meant to fool around with my CDE and the tracking..... but got sidetracked finishing up the wiring on a R/C Funfly airplane then flying it, then getting my Nexus fired up and tweaked the carb settings and flew it, THEN.... flew the little 450X late in the day till It was almost too dark to see it.

Decided last night to order so more stuff for the CDE, and going to use a HS-81 tail servo, move the radio to the front, and probably ditch those carbon blades and get another set of woodies before I mess with it again... So long story short, no the tracking is still off! Going to place a order in a little bit for my parts and will or should have it good to go by later this week.

btw, the 450X flys like a dream. Extremely stable.

Sorry Ron, wasn't my intent to give ya a hard time.

FWIW, It took me looking at the manual a couple times to make heads or tails out of what they were saying.
