I just installed OS70 in one of my Fury Experts. Has anyone experience issues when running at ilde or the mixture being too rich or too lean at ilde causing it to shutoff at low idle. This is a new OS70.
I would appreciate any help...

Lean the low end until the engine idles without dying. Mine did that after the engine break-in period.

The idle screw should be between 15 and 30 degrees on the lean side of centre depending on fuel, temperature and altitude. Let us know!

Any engine with a poorly tuned low-speed needle will shut down.

If you are referening to spool up problems (transition between idle and full speed) try an Enya #3. Solves most running problems on the OS70.

New engines usually build up heat when run too long on idle which could make them shut down.

the spool up problem is an air leak fault.i cured mine by sealing the loose fitting carb with silicone around the base.

all comments are my opinion only!

Mine was perfectly sealed I know, I checked several times. If you search on RR you will find an old thread about my OS70 complaints.

I only could fly 8 tanks on a OS#8 plug (I even started to think the #8 on the plug meant that she would be good for 8 flights )

On the 8th flight the same problem appeared over and over... cut out during spoolup.

I played with nitro (10%, 15%, 20%). I played with needles (lean, rich, etc) I played with idle settings (low, high idle), I tried everything.

Finally when I was ready to trash the engine I put an enya #3 in there... I had it for 50 flights without ANY problem until I upgraded to a YS91. No cut outs, no cougth, nothing. A perfect engine. It's now gathering dust on the shelf though...

The more I went CCW with the mixture screw the better it ran at idle. The original problem was that it would run like crap as you lowered the idle to a acceptable(Clutch not grabbing) position.

Thank you all for your input. I will keep you posted as the engine is broken in.
