I have the 50 quiet version which has been the only one obtainable for about a year (as far as I know). It is very quiet and pleasant - in fact I wouldn't mind if it was a bit louder to give the heli more presence. I haven't heard the loud version personally but I understand it is fine at a club where noise is not an issue. If your club/flying site is sensitive to noise then perhaps the old MPII is not for you. I imagine it is about as loud as the standard tuned pipe used on planks without the muffler section at the back.

I'll be honest, I have the Quiet pipe on my EVO and the old pipe on my Raptor and I can't tell that much difference.

The MP2-L can be made civilized by using the gray extension (for some reason no other works the same) and a .025 orifice at the end (I used a RB-211 "clinch nut" (may be hard to find) performance is unaffected.

When I heard the muscle pipe 2 LOUD for the first time I actually couldn't belive just how loud it was - concorde or a F15 could fly past and you wouldn't even notice it! Thats just ONE which I've heard! The quite versions are sweet though.

Thats because the one you have now is the loud version. I had the quiet version and was a lot quieter than the one you have now.
The loud version has a loud raspy sound, the quiet version has a less raspy note to it.DOUG

I was under the impression that the stamped ones with curtisyoungblood.com on the header were the quiet pipe, I'm fairly sure it was advertised as such when I bought it. Not that it really matters where we fly.

The newer MP2 pipes have the logo stamped on the header. The older ones do not.

Douglas was right, my EVO with the non quiet was alot louder than my Raptor.

He will be happy to know I replaced it with a quiet pipe MPII

A freind of mine has the loud pipe on his Raptor and it sounds like its throwing up when it idles. Like BLEEEEEEHHHHHHHH. But when its running and he hits idle up it sounds badass.

None that I can tell, the quiet version is just not as noisy and it only comes in one version the LR or low rpm version.
