Anyone have any experience with these MH and Align pulley's?

MicroHeli Front CNC Pulley - T-REX 450X/XL

MicroHeli CNC Pulley/TITANIUM Tail Shaft - T-REX 450X/XL

It would be nice to stop replacing the plastic pulley's.

I'm curious if moving up to the CNC one's will shred the belt when compared with the plastic one's....hmmmmm

... But honey it was only $$$

They are really good, just make sure you have a good small hexdriver is all as the l wrench that comes with them are poop.

...Once upon a time there were Nitros, flybars and frequency pins...

I use both on my 450XL. They are nice but I still had one belt shred due to it running onto the hub of the tail drive. They beat the hell out of the plastic ones.

I thought about the Align one's, but then decided against it looking at the quality comparison. True, they may be just as good as the MH CNC one's, but IMO and guy feeling I went with the MH CNC one's.

a little off topic a little bit but anyone uses MH tail pulley in Align metal tail case? Does it fit with Align tail case or only MH tail case?

rcdaddy,
I use the MH tail drive shaft and pulley with the Align metal tail case. I needed to file both sides of the pulley slightly so it would turn freely in the case without rubbing. Took 3 minutes with a small metal jewelers file, no big deal. Works fine and spins very free.

As OICU812 mentioned earlier, the allen wrench they give you sucks. I got it to work but am still looking for a decent allen wrench that small.

Some hardware stores might stock them.

If you can't find any, try an electronics store.

I concur that the MH pulley works very well.

However, the little grub screws are very fragile. Not to mention the quality of the allen key.

PS, I am also looking for a good 1mm allen key.

kookboy,

The allen key we import from USA. This key is very small so I understand it will be difficult for some person who tries to work with this tiny key. Both the key and the screw are very tiny, please make sure you use caution when tightening the screws unlike other big screws and big allen keys. Remember to loctite with loctite #242 or #243 to secure both the set screws on the pulley.

Will, we do not use soft metal for our products. Do you have one of these? How do you know it is soft metal?

Will,

You requested replacements of tail pulley and cnc shaft due to the tail shaft is bent not the pulley problem. This problem is almost a year ago. At that time it may be some issue with the aluminum but we have changed all aluminum types long time ago and you know that.
