I have a GV-1 that came installed on a helicopter but the sensor was not included. I have all the items I need to make an optical sensor but I want to fly the helicopter sooner than I can get the sensor made.

Should I leave the GV-1 completely out of the loop until I get the sensor made and installed or can I hook it up inline and set it to manual mode without any problems???? I will be installing the sensor pretty soon and didn't know if I could go ahead and get the rest of the setup done ahead of time and still have manual control of the throttle...

Thanks!
Ed

I tried flying upside down once... but I couldn't take the blood rushing to my head.

the GV1 will not operate w/o the sensor.

manual mode refers to manually setting the target RPM but the
unit will not work at all w/o the feedback from the sensor.

it'll just revert to throttle curves that are in the TX.
