I havent seen that one yet. But Robonova from hitec seems to be doing very well and is a very similar bot.

Im going to be starting a project soon with the BASIC Atom. Its not a biped but just a rover so I can start learning this kind of stuff.

Also if your planning on something like this I would suggest the SSC-32

trey3670, If you have a Barnes and Noble they should have it there. That's where I saw the mag a few weeks ago... It's the premier issue.

Mine is a KHR-1 that I made from the kit. It uses 17 digital servos employing position feedback. the controllers for these things not only send position commands to the servos, but also speed. The servos send position feedback data to the controller that allows for "posing" the robot and capturing this data. Pose it several times and you have "frames" for a claymation type of motion programming. The position feedback also lets the controller know, and correct for, if the servos don't drive to exactly the right position for the motion sequence. I'm trying to teach my robot how to tune my nitro engines while the blades are spinning. I'll then pass the technique onto Ray for his next Authoritative book. The robot's short enough to clear the main blades while he's working. Check out my gallery to see!

Should anyone be interested, I've had to put my Robot helper up for adoption He can be found in the Classifieds, WANTED or Trade section under ROBOT Nitro engine tuner. Thanks for considering helping him out.
